Sears Canada Inc

Purchased a new Kenmore stove for my older parents, store sales staff were great. Delivery people dragged the old stove out across their kitchen floor ripping up the vinyl tiles finish, but parents were older and did not notice at the time. Came after work to see the new stove and noticed the floor right away, went to the Sears Oshawa Centre store, spoke over 10 days with my salesman, appliance manager, store manager and customer care in the Philippines. The out and out arrogance of the local store manager just blew me away, never returned a call even though he promised 3 times in a face to face. Ended up taking the morning off work and going to Sears head office in Toronto, no markings outside, a sleezy side door down an alley near the Eaton Centre. No management would speak to me, they were all wrapped up in their glass towers, but lady at security took my info and said an executive review group would call me within 48 hours. Ended up getting total compensation on my credit card of $260 including the delivery charge ($70), but this just covers your time off work, gas and parking in Toronto. The arrogance of Sears upper management is unbelievable, and I must admit they have lost my business. We went back because of their cute ads on TV and wanting them to stay in Canada.

Great job at the time , bought 30 year shingles, they are shot after 9 years. Now Sears Home is bankrupt, no warranty. Also had windows replaced. One window leaked after about 4 years, prorated warranty. Part only, I had to pay labour. Labour cost was more than the window was in the first place. Very dissappointed.

I had ordered a washer and dryer to my home. Upon arrival, the movers dragged the dryer against the wall all the way up the stairs, chipped wood on the railing and scratched the floor. I was called later by Sears and was asked about the service. I told them what happened. they said oh well and did not provide me with any option to resolve the issue. The salesmen were good, the delivery guys were not. This was a brand new home, now I am reminded everyday when climbing the stairs why I will never shop at Sears again.

I had my roof replaced about 1.5 years ago by sears. To make a long story short, about 7 months after it was installed, the roof leaked. The leak only occurred when we experienced a driving rain with the rain hitting the front of my house. They sent people out to look at it and they believed that it was a result gaps in my bricks rather than a faulty installation. Ultimately, my father and I took a hose up to the flashing and we showed irrefutably that the flashing was the cause of the leak. We documented that the leak on film and showed that it could be caused by running water directly over the flashing. When we showed the movie to Sears, they agreed to fix the problem and repair the damage to my home (drywall insulation and vapour barrier.

While the problem took a long time to resolve (approximately 3 months until the roof was fixed and about 8 months to fix the drywall in my house) they did ultimately fix the problem and repair the damage.

I am less than happy with the whole situation but I must admit that they FIXED EVERYTHING that I asked them to fix. Most other roofing companies would never admit that they installed something wrong and they would not come back to fix all of the damage that they had caused.

My review is a bit of good and bad here so take it for what it is worth. I would give them an F for causing the problem in the first place but an A+ for fixing the problem .

We purchased a new matress and box spring for our king size bed, the consultant was terrible and pushy. When the delivery men came to deliver the product, they scratched my walls in the staircase and broke a vase. The whole experience was not a good one...start to finish...

The sales lady was most helpful and gave us information that was required and checked with other suppliers so we could get the best price. She did a lot of research for us as we were also trying to purchase a washer/dryer combo to fit a small area, only had 32" deep to work with. We had to wait until we moved in to see what could be done and where. The items were delivered on time and we went back to Sears to order the washer and dryer and they were delivered just last week.
