Very long story short: last spring we bought a stove from Home Depot and contracted with them to install a stone patio and replace our kitchen countertop. I won't name the store because the staff, especially the store manager, were helpful and in the end gave us some credits, but the process was very stressful. A big problem is at the corporate level; e.g., the staff in the store told me one thing about the countertop backsplash while the corporate installation department told me another. Their computer system is a mess. The order and billing paperwork is often inaccurate and is impossible to follow. We were overcharged 3 times. They caught 2 and I caught 1. In one case the store manager spent 30 minutes on the phone with the IT department trying to "trick" the computer system into giving me a refund. Despite the fact that I repeatedly asked Home Depot and the countertop company about our dishwasher, neither would give me an answer and in the end the installers left the dishwasher loose in the cabinet. The store sent out a man to re-attach it, but he did a terrible job. When I complained, a manager told me to find someone myself to do the work. They did pay for the labour. We are satisfied with the stove, patio, and countertop, but we would never again use Home Depot for any installation work.
