Desperate Housemaids No Longer In Business

Ladies, the best job i have seen so far. On time, professional and reliable. I now am using this company on a weekly basis in my new home in york region.

I called & spoke with a guy named Salice to find out about a Groupon Offer I received. I wanted to confirm they would be honouring the coupon, he snarily answered "Of course we do.". I stated I had heard that some have ordered from Groupon & and the companies were not honouring the coupons so I wanted to confirm. (I was not please from this point & it got progressively worse).

I then asked about what the service entailed. He said "Well don't you have the e-mail? What does it say?" I said can you not answer my question, he said "Of course, I know exactly what it's for." I again asked if he would be willing to tell me, then I said based on this conversation thus far, I was not impressed with the service, he then said "Well you don't have to get it then" and then hung up.

I WOULD DEFINITELY NEVER USE A COMPANY THAT TREATED ME OR ANYONE LIKE THIS LET ALONE RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

Finally after 6 cleaning companies in the past 3 years, I finally found my perfect match. These 2 lady's came to my home fully equipped and ready to tackle all my wants. They did everything and i mean everything and because of that I am a regular weekly client. Spread the word they are amazing.

i had desperate house maids come to clean my house after a friend had recommended them to me. i was reluctant at first because i have had bad experiences in the past with other cleaning companies...i was pleasently surprised!! Nicole and casandra were very profesional and had an excelent attitude! they walked in and got right to work they even pointed out some areas that i have never noticed. they gave 110% and it shows that they take pride in their work. i have never seen my home shine as it does after they leave! my wife and i refuse to have anyone else in our home because the staff in the office and on the road are all hard working and friendly! i couldnt be more thrilled with this company as a whole and have been hooked ever since!

Great job, freindly, very thorough, did vapour cleaning and no chemicals involved. Will recommend for sure...and i'm very picky!!! .

I never write reviews. However, I thought that this was well deserved. The team of ladies that came to my home last week were absolutely amazing. I've had a company for 2 years now cleaning my home, but decided to give Desperate Housemaids a try after hearing some great feed back from friends. Let me tell you, it was well worth it. They cleaned things that I never thought of. Looks like I found myself a new company and I want to tell everyone about it. Amazing!

Just want to tell everyone about Nicole and Cassandra. They cleaned soooo well - they were on their knees scrubbing my grout for 2 hours. They are awesome.

I used my Groupon and had no problems booking with Harry. Can't wait to have them back again. My husband was also very impressed.

I called to have my house cleaned a few weeks ago and was pleasantly pleased. One of the maids called in sick so there was only one, she was very friendly and hard working, she stayed for 4 hours and did a great job. She went out of her way to make sure that places even I didn't think of were clean. She worked very hard non stop for the full 4 hours, my house was spotless when she left. I would most diffently use this service again, they are reasonably priced as well.

First off, I created an account just so that I could write this review and save SOMEONE from the horros I went through. Let me begin by saying that I do not complain. I'm generally very complacent, easily impressed and overall try to see the best in every situation. But this? This was absolutely ridiculous.

I purchased a groupon coupon for desperate housemaids back in september. Never. Ever. Ever again will I be using their services. After three phone calls I was finally given a tentative date in which I could redeem my cleaning services - a month from the day that I called. I was told that due to a heavy volume and huge response from the groupon site, that was the best they could do. Fine. I was told that if I didn't hear from them, they would be there on such and such date. That date came and went. I didn't hear from them, and nobody showed up (I should mention I had to take half a personal day from work as I wasn't comfortable with them in my place alone for the first time and they do not work evenings, early mornings or weekends - and nobody showed up).
I called back (unsucessfully). After three messages, and a week gone by, someone got back to me. They apologized for the mistake and said the appointment was never officially scheduled, but they could come in two weeks. Again, the best they could do.
They showed up a week early, without warning, as I was on my way out the door. I had not prepared, tidied etc... but fine. They were there, finally, so I was happy. Luckily my boyfriend happened to have the day off, and could be there to ensure that everything went smoothly.
After about an hour, they attempted to leave. My boyfriend pointed out that we had paid for two hours, and that they hadn't even vacuumed yet. They agreed to stay a little bit longer, but stated that their vacuum had broken the night before. At this point he put up a bit of a fuss and questioned how you could have a cleaning service without having a vacuum. They apologized and agreed to come back the next day to finish up the job and vacuum.
The next day they did not show up.
After calling, they apologized yet again claiming that "something came up" and said they would come back and finish the job that they had started two days earlier. They came (an hour late), stayed for no longer than 5 minutes, and took off again.
Never. Ever. Ever again will I be using their services.
On top of the incredibl headache, the unprofessionalism, and the waste of my time, the job that was done was not even remotely impressive. I'm incredibly dissapointed. If I could give zero stars, I would.

One thing to note, they did a wonderful job on the bathroom. For that, they get one star.
