Incompetent company. Administration is clueless, careless with files and give out inaccurate information. As the project manager told me.. They don't know what they are doing. It's true! Including the project managers who are uninterested in their job and not accountable for their lack of progress and communication.

All the workers we so efficient with their skills timing and coordination with the company staff was excellent every step of the job was done in stages I have some work done with other companies but not as satisfied as I was with Belfour.

Mid August my home experience water damage destroying the ceiling on the lower level. Belfor was QUICK to come get my $1000 deductible. Same day in fact.........Sept 6th.
I had arrange to list my home Sept 6th but this damage caused me to remove the listing until the repair could be done. I am experiencing financial duress and selling my home was the solution.
Imagine my frustration having to produce $1000 I did not have only to have them shirk all responsibility and leave me hanging.
Since that time I have had to CHASE both the insurance company and Belfor for start dates. I received nothing back from Belfor until just this week when I went upline. It should not have to come to this and Canadians should have more protection from companies that take money but do not produce the service.
None of this is acceptable.
Now, 6 weeks later, they have responded indicating they will send someone to view the scope of work????? I guess the first check, all the pictures, measurements etc that were taken have been lost since they have to do it all over again or is it conceivable that this "delay tactic" is a way to placate me?
Not this Canadian. Belfor you have my money, you have not done a single piece of work. So now I ask............where did my money go? Why did I have to pay a deductible before the work was even done to my satisfaction? Isn't this against policy? Something smells funny here and I want answers.................

Belfor was hired to make repairs after water damage. They showed up in a timely fashion and quickly ripped out the drywall and insulation and ran industrial fans for four days without the source of the problem being fixed. Now, the walls and ceiling have been left exposed and the rain just pours into the house. No response from the project manager.

Ballo from the Belfor Restoration company organized and fixed our water damaged floor without a hitch. Removed the furniture, ripped out the old floor, reinstalled floor and trim and replaced the furniture. Great outcome.

Used my insurance company's recommended restoration company Belfor and their recommended flooring company Signature Floors to deal with water leak insurance claim. Has been a gong show from the start. Project manager Jenn from Belfor only returned phone calls and emails intermittently. After many problems with Jenn I requested a new project manager in Dec 2019 and was refused. Contractors showed up at the wrong time or didn't show up at all. Flooring install is badly done and this was confirmed by the sales rep from the flooring manufacturer. Both Jenn from Belfor and Ryan manager of Signature Floors claimed without even coming out to look at my floor that it was installed as per industry standards - how can anyone say that the floor was installed properly without coming out to the job site??? I have been fighting with Belfor, Signature Floors and my insurance company for months with no resolution. On Jan 17, 2020 Ryan the manager from Signature Floors came out to inspect my floor. Myself and my friend reviewed all the problems with the floor and Ryan agreed to remove the floor, correct the levelling issues (that were made by their installer) and put in new flooring at no charge to me. Dan the owner of Signature Floors now states the install is fine and refuses to replace the floor. I have been given the run around by Belfor and Signature Floors for months now. The job is incomplete and I cannot use my basement. My insurance company was finally able to get Dan and the GM of Belfor out to my home last week and Dan is still trying to claim the floor has been installed properly. At best I have been offered to have an independent flooring inspector out to inspect the flooring which can't happen for another 4-6 weeks! I should have been offered an independent flooring inspection months ago!!! I have not been able to park in my garage for over 3 months because that's where all my basement belongings are stored!

We were recently broken into and after said people had taken everything they wanted, they discharged fire extinguishers all over the offices and showrooms to "cover their tracks". I can't express how much of a disaster this created. After being contacted, Malcolm from Belfor came in right away to assess the damage and see how cleanup should commence as almost every area was unworkable at this point. To start he had Callum come and bring in air purifiers as it was difficult to breath with all of the dust floating around. It was later in the morning and of course the staff were already booked and on other job sites, but Malcolm still managed to get two cleaners to our offices shortly after lunch. It was stressed to him that my office was of the utmost importance, so he had Tammy and Angela start there. These women were very efficient and worked as quickly as possible to get my office cleaned up while still paying attention to detail. I appreciated this very much! The next day Malcolm had a very large crew in to get the rest of the offices and showrooms cleaned. Ashlynn was fantastic. She gave the crew great direction and kept me up to date on what was happening during the whole process. To say she is meticulous about the work would be an understatement. A few times I noticed her go over others work because she was not satisfied as well as re-clean areas where dust had settled overnight. All in all, from Malcolm to the cleaners to the scaffolding guys the service was excellent and everyone was a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them. They definitely follow through on what they promise.

After coming home to a flooded basement after a beautiful holiday all the stress was back. Belfor was recommended by our insurance company. They were quick to get back to us and were very good at communicating to us what needed to be done. Their team was effective in getting our repairs done quickly and the workmanship was fantastic. We were very happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

Insurance Company hired Belfor after I had water damage from leaking skylights. Discussed Asbestos during the consultation and then was provided two quotes. One for the insurance claim and the other a private to remove the skylights. Took several weeks to get an explanation on the quotes from the project manager and during the explanation noticed they had quoted for a larger surface area then was required.

After Asbestos removal they could not be bothered to communicate on when we could return to house or even respond to in a timely fashion. After I had called and emailed multiple times during business hours. The afterhours support contact was not of any help wither. Had to get the insurance company to contact them four days later.

Did a poor job on the Asbestos removal and the re-framing of the sky light openings. They did such a poor job of scrapping of stipple (which had the Asbestos in it) off the ceiling and it took the new contractor longer to repair. They also did not remove all of the black mold after multiple conversations saying they would. Did not clean up after themselves or remove any of the non-contaminated waste.

After continued delays, to complete the next portion of job even , I had them removed from the job. They did not even come back to clean up or return my front door key, which was in a lock box. I eventually found a random Belfor employee to come and unlock the box for me. Took approximately 6 weeks for that.

To sum up poor at communication, poor at project management, and terrible at doing repairs.

Will never recommend this company to anyone.

When my house burned down in 2012, I turned to Belfor for the construction based on their size and relationships with insurance carriers. The rebuild turned out to be a horror show. When all was said and done I was bankrupt and tried to give the partially constructed house to the bank. That's when Belfor slapped a lien on the property, even though they would've received an additional $100K+ for the 90% inspection. Now they are taking me to court for $225K. Terrible.
