Very bad customer services

We bought a king bed in early of April. We are told it will be delivered by end of April. However, it keeps delaying and we have not received the product now. The most frustrating is it is very hard to reach the sales. She didn't return my calls until I called a few times. Every time, they told me it's delayed and will be arrived next month and they never called to inform me when it's going to be delayed again until I have to keep calling them to find out. The sales can't be reached and when I asked for the manager, I was told the manager wasn't there. It is to ally frustrating. If I knew I have wait for over 4 months to get a bed,I would not buy from there.

large order- not accurate about guarenteed time

Ordered a second entire living room set because the first one was horrible quality. The store did not take it back and I was forced to sell it for dirt cheap to try and recover some cost. I was guarenteed on by bil of sale with a witness present that what i ordered was in stock and would take no more then 3-4 weeks at the most for delivery. I have now been without furniture and paying to stay elsewhere with dependants for an additional two weeks. Parks refuses to provide any discount for the extreame inconvinience of even offer to address my extra costs because they verified my furniture would all be available only one week late and now I learn the major peices won't be in making it 7 weeks for a confirmed in stock order. This is not acceptable if i knew this was going to occur, noting I gave a second chance already I would have ordered from a competitor to obtain furniture. Now my family has no where for our holiday dinner and I am paying a mortgage for a house I cannot even stay in as there is no where for my family to even sit. Don't guarentee 3-4 weeks and verify it is in stock when clearly that was not the case. I also did not get any calls to set up delivery I called at the 5 week mark to arrange this and then was also told it was ALL in stock for the 11th. Now I learn the key peices are missing and my delivery and holiday plans are ruined. Not worth the discount to have this much of a delay with zero discount offered. The owner was supposed to call me back and had an office staff, the one who verified my delivery would occur in full call and refuse any compensation for what I am now out of pocket for relying on them to honour their guarentee. Clearly they should have said 2-3 months not a maximum of 4 weeks for all furniture to arrive. they have the copy of the same bill i do where it is clearly written 3-4 weeks maximum for full order to arrive and want me to send it to them to ignore? Now I am afraid what will happen. Oh I was offered "loaner" furniture but could not be guarenteed it did not have bugs and I would not be charged to buy that if my dependants splilled something on it. No thanks! Just send me all my furniture I paid CASH for when you say it will be there. If late offer an appropriate discount for the major inconvinience. That's what all other stores would do. I'm going to note too this was an instock order- verified by both the sales rep and office to be in and the ready date and not custom furniture. In addition: Park's set up my delivery for April 19th in the evening. Today is April 20th guess what happened with a verified delivery?? Nothing showed up. That's right not even a phone call. The Owner was to call me according to the sales rep who was arranging that and it's been two weeks- not one call recieved. The first half of my confirmed that it was full order was also sent to the wrong address. I looked at my invoice and it all had the correct address. Luckily for the first part the delivery people called me to ask where it should actually go as they were sitting infront of my former house. A property sold and not the address on my invoice to begin with.. god job for the contractors to call when they realized that was a mistake made by Parks. Park's was more than aware of the correct new address but the right address was on the bill so not even an apology for that. I requested the owner to call again this week. Still no call back. No customer service not even an apology. The comment from park's is not correct. I was verified all my furniture would be in prior now it's not and not even a call about not geting a delivery last night for their delay. I also did not refuse to send my invoice. I stated I had no way to send it in at that time and at the time I was at work and the invoice was at home. I also reminded them that this was on their typed out computer print out and they had a copy on file which clearly states delivery within 3-4 weeks guarenteed. I also have witnesses to all of this transaction. I have two disabled dependants and no where for my family to sit in my home. Park's claims that they can't work it out with a customer who has spent now over 6k within less than a year not to meantion several thousand over the last decade because of there low prices, well as a Senior manager in a major corporation this is simply a tax write off and all other stores would offer some sort of discount or at least delivery reimbursed even a store credit for a future purchase for the inconvinience even the consumers protection act spells out what should occur in these situations. None of what has occured. The former management was much more customer friendly and cared about providing quality and quality service with full accountability when incorrect information is provided. The furniture is also not the colour it was shown to be. It is brown. I ordered slate grey. Luckily it will work with my flooring and I can live with it as I am not paying an insane restocking fee and waiting more weeks for furniture that is needed. but it is not anything near what was expected. Park's could easily take some accountability for their errors but instead they attack the paying customer. How about deliver when you say you are going to, offer some sort of discount and free delivery when things are screwed up, and call someone when their delivery is not going to show up. We wasted all night waiting and trying to contact someone to find out where the delivery set up and verified for was. Not a single call saying no delivery or something went wrong. Even the first delivery it was confirmed to be delivered on the 19th noting here the furniture was supposed to be there by April 8th then on April 15th I set up a confirmed full order to find out at the last minute the most important peices were not in. Then it was confirmed to be in April 19th and delivery was set for April 19th in the evening between 5-9pm. I verified it again, and nothing showed up! This is ok to do? No calls no nothing? My first set purchased in November 2016 this time around was not what it was supposed to be either. The couches were horrible and my sales rep did nothing about that. I gave parks a second chance and now all the bad reviews I have read is exactly what I am experiencing. Professionals speak to their customers. They work out something mutually beneficial and they stand by their products with customer service and accountability. Even your incorrect response states I will be gewtting my furniture on April 19th. Still nothing so how about the owner calls me to work this out after I spend physical cash to furnish my new home. A table chair is also wonky as is an end table are you going to replace the defective items at no cost to me? My kitchen table that did arrive, is not the correct colour. Lots of issues I would like to discuss yet no one will call me back. The person who verified the order would be all in and delivered April 15th- late- also back peddled and said I was mistaken and she said there would be missing peices. Here is a major fact: I would have waited to set up the delivery in the first place and not have made easter plans with company if I knew my couch and love seat were not coming. It was verified and instead of simply taking some accountability and even providing an apology they were untruthful. Clearly about my order arriving last night as well since I still have no furniture for my family. So here I stil waiting again for calls to come in to explain why my delivery did not arrive last night. I even verified it yesterday morning as I had a bad feeling that something else was going to go wrong. Park's in their comment even verified the 19th. Well that did not happen and I paid someone to be at my home at 5 as I could not get back until 6. He was there at 445 and we left the home at 10pm not a single truck in sight and no delievery not even a call. It makes me wonder if they delivered to some other address again. The entire experience has been unnesessary stress, which could have been fully avoided if Park's simply owned up to some major errors and even offered to refund the delivery charges at the most basic customer service expectations. It is amazing what simple accountability does for a company's reputation. There is no valid excuse to last night's no show. Not without a call to the Customer. My time and others time is valuable.

We never guarantee a delivery time. You are mistaken. Your stuff in suppose to be here on April 19. Our prices are so low we can not offer you a further discount. You told us we guaranteed it in writing. We asked you to provide it to us and now you have changed your story.

Bought a sofa then bought another

Went into Parks after researching all the major outlets and a few online spots. Wanted to "test drive" the sofa before buying. Parks had a huge selection of sofas for us to demo. The store is in an old warehouse building which has a lot of character.
Pricing was extremely competitive. Once you spend $1200 you become a member for life and this entitles you to membership pricing which works out to around 40% off retail. This price ended up being much cheaper than the online company Wayfair and arrived in less time.
To save some $ I opted to pick my item up which arrived in about four weeks.

Parks Furniture

In November my partner and I visited Parks looking for a sectional sofa. We dealt with Lore. After explaining to her that we needed something for the rec room and that it was a tight fit she had recommended buying three pieces. We ended up ordering and purchasing a décor rest sectional sofa.

About mid-January the couch was delivered. The delivery guys show up and as you probably guessed the one piece wouldn’t fit. They recommended that we return the couch and re select to get something smaller. So, they took it away.
The next day my partner called to talk to Laure about what our options were. He called 3 times with no return phone call!!!! She was working however every time he called she was “with a customer”. It was the day after that she finally returned his call. He had arranged with her that we would come to the store on the weekend and go over some options.

When we went to meet with her she was very quick to start ordering us new pieces that would fit. She recommended that we get 4 pieces instead this time. Why would she not have recommended that in the first place?? . With re ordering and the ridiculous 20% restocking fee (which for the record on your websites says 15%) was going to cost us an additional 800-1000 dollars. This was not an option for us. We asked if it could be sent back and we would “make it” fit. I agree, it is absolutely not Parks fault that our couch didn’t fit but the restocking fee is outrageous and no other sensible option was presented to us. I think this is terrible salesman ship and customer service. Not to mention that I had to pay an extra 50 cash to the delivery guys to bring it back.

So, long story short, the couch was returned and my partner and a friend were able to eventually get it down the stairs. But…..the story is not over yet.
My partner noticed an extra 300 dollar charge on his Visa from Parks furniture. When he called billing at Parks they didn’t know what it the charge was and said that they would get Lore to call back ( here we go again). Approximately 20 minutes later another lady who was not Lore called back. She said that “ it’s a store policy that they put a 300 dollar hold on the visa in case the couch needed to be returned again” Really???? If this is a so called “store policy” why were we not informed and why was the girl in billing not aware??? Also what if we hadn’t had called? Would we be out 300 dollars??

So, as you can see we did not have a pleasant experience at all. Customer service beyond disgusting!!!!!

Company Response

This was a custom order, most stores will not take back a custom order at all. However we feel bad and take it back with a small restocking fee of 20%. We use the restocking fee to lower the price of the furniture to help sell it off. We would rather not take it back even with the restocking fee. As for the delivery, we charge half our normal rate to go back on a re selection. $50 to deliver furniture doesn't cover our out of pocket cost to send 2 guys and a large truck to your home. As for the $300 fee I think that was a mistake on our part

Affordable, helpful staff and great products

I bought a twin bed with boxspring at parks and when I went there I was shown around to all the different beds and they gave me information on each bed and let me test them out and priced out my top three, price was not an issue as all three were cheaper than any other competitors. What I was blown away by was the delivery and wait time, I got my furniture in a reasonably fast time. 10/10 would recommend parks to all friends and family

Couches

HI bought a couch and love seat , Couches came beginning of November. The delivery guys had very poor hygiene and walked on my new rug with shoes on! When we unwrapped the couches , there was a blue pen mark on the couch. I called parks right away. A lady called me back two days later, we set up a time for a guy to come clean the couch. I waited all day and he never came. I called again and left an email explain how that no one came. The response I got was that the cleaning guy called me 4 times and my phone was busy. This is a not true! I have double lines and and answering machine. We booked another time for the guy to come clean the couch. (A week or so later !) and guess what ?! That's right. He didn't come again! Now they want to replace the part on the couch with pen and I will have to be at home another day for them to pick the couch up, fix it, and bring it back the next day ... another day I have to wait at home ... I want to returne the furniture that I bought and the response I get is that I have to pay 10% restalking fee!! And use it towards buying something else at Parks ! I have been asking to speak with a manager or the owner. No one will give me the name of the person in charge. parks sold me a couch with pen on it ! Won't come and clean it. ! And I don't want these couches anymore or have to deal with this crappy service and I have to pay to give the couches back ?!! PARKS HAS VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ! Don't waste your money or you time !!

worst customer service ever

By far the worst customer service experience I have ever had and not just once, but continuously throughout this entire situation which has now gone on since delivery of my couch June 21, 2016 - 5 months!!! My section arrived with a leg that could not be screwed in and I was advised somebody would be back within 2 weeks to fix it. In addition a few of the cushions were not right. I had an appointment for the repair man July 11th between 4 - 6 and left work early to be home by 4:00. Nobody showed up and nobody called. I was advised that the repairman's truck had broke down and his cell phone died. After several emails and no response I sent an email July 22nd advising the service Manager Karen and the owner Patrick Gabriel that I wanted my couch returned for full refund. That's all it took to get Karen to finally contact me. She advised that her repairman's truck was still broken down but that she paid somebody to bring him to me to do my repair. It's not my fault his truck is still not running so I find it most unprofessional that she felt she needed to tell me she paid somebody but then on top of that the person who brought the repairman to my home was Patrick Gabriel, the owner. She paid her boss to bring his repairman to my house??? She didn't think I would know who he was, he didn't identify himself until I asked as I recognized him from being on TV. The leg finally got fixed July 26th. Patrick decided he was going to order 2 new stuffing cushions to fix some of the problem and that the would be in within 2 weeks. I waited until September 28th (2 months) and still nobody called about these cushions. Again I advised that I wanted my couch returned and once again magically Karen called me back. The biggest issue is a cushion that is too small and doesn't fit right. I have provided the picture from Deco-rest's website of how my couch should look, I went back to Park's showroom and took pictures of the couch I saw when I purchased my couch to show them that my couch doesn't look like the 2 model couches. October 17th Karen left a message apologizing for not following up. It's been 5 months since I got my couch and this is the first time anybody has apologized. I have been made to feel like an inconvenience when I try to deal with these people. I offered a couple of choices on what I need to happen to somewhat make this problem go away and gave a deadline for a response but no surprise, I have heard nothing. Park's Furniture's way of dealing with issues is to ignore the customer and hope that they will get fed up and just go away. It's unfortunately but a lot of people do exactly that instead of fighting for what's right. I have gotten legal advise and told that I will win this case so small claims court here I come. I wish others would read this and do the same rather than just give up after being treated so poorly. This company has no problem taking your money but don't expect anything good to come after that if you have any issues. I've learned to do my homework and do research on companies before giving them my business. Sincerely disgusted!
