Air Solutions

We had Air Solutions install our new Heat & Glo fireplace back in August. Prior
to purchasing the fireplace we read some of the reviews on this site and
wanted to get ahead of their busy season.

We had a consultant by the name of Mitch visit our home, he was very
accomendating considering my husband and I both work in Toronto and don't
get home until 7pm every night. He sat down with us and explained the
difference between each unit. We have a living room with very high ceilings,
he suggested a higher BTU unit. He took the measurments of our "cavity
opening" as they call it, I just refer to it as the fireplace opening. He
left us with 3 different fireplace insert options and suggested for us to
visit their showroom to see the fireplaces.

We visited their showroom on a Saturday, it was very busy however we were
able to get the attention of a young lady that was able to show us the
fireplaces. We were very suprised that all 3 models were working. We booked
another appointment for Mitch to come back to our home to finalize the
details. Once again Mitch came out at 730pm to meet with us!! We were able to
sign at a great price, he told us it was because we purchased pre-season. I
had told him I was just trying to beat the rush, but it turned out we ended up
saving money in the end.

The next day, I had a voicemail from Air Solutions to schedule
the installation. I had contacted them back the next day and they were able to
book our installation date on a Saturday.

The installers arrived between 9-9:30 a.m. as promised. They first introduced themselves
and asked if we had any questions before proceeding with the fireplace installation. My
only concern was the noise level as I was baby-sitting my grand-daughter and
they would be working during her nap hours. They were very straight forward
in telling me that there would be a moderate level of noise, which I was
expecting.

The installers placed drop sheets from my front door leading into the living
room which was very respectful. They worked hard for a straight 4 hours with
no breaks and they were completed the installation before my grand-daughter
had to go down for her nap, which I was very thankful for.

I must say that I LOVE my new fireplace. It was the best decision we made as
we are growing older and my husband was having more and more troubles every
year chopping the wood.

My husband and I wanted to spend the time to highlight our experience
and recommend Air Solutions to everybody looking to upgrade their
wood-burning fireplace to gas.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the service! Good communication, excellent customer service and extremely attentive staff. The technicians were courteous and took extreme care to make sure to cover every inch of our hardwood floors. The fireplace took a little longer to install due to the unforeseen challenges ~ the final result is simply amazing. A consultant came to our home the same day we called to get an estimate and went over all of the best options and financing for us. The install was scheduled for just 1 day after purchase, and was completed in a quick and tidy manner.
All the questions we had were answered right away, and the technician talked us through everything we needed to know to use the system. I have no complaints about the job performed!
I would definitely recommend Air Solutions to all my friends and anyone looking for a fast response and exceptional customer service!

I contacted Air solutions when my furnace failed, the sales rep was very patient and informative, he patiently explained the products, operations and the rebates that I was elegible for and even suggested a tankless water heater (which we LOVE!). The installation crew was on time, knowledgable, neat and took their time to walk me through my new system. Within a couple of days, one of their customer service representive called me to confirm that the rebates were submitted and asked me how I like the install: I told her I had a minor concern and she dispatched a technician in 45 MINUTES!!! to assist me. So when they say that they have 24/7 emergency service, I see no reason to worry at all!

I've had my share of "experiences" with contractors (see my other review) but these ones, deserve a parise. Keep up the good work!

Our home that we purchased had a fireplace and stone surround originally installed by Air Solutions in late 2007. Once we inspected the fireplace closer it was apparent that that installation was terribly done by AIR SOLUTIONS in Whitby. There was a safety issue with the frame and installation of the stone surround that could have caused a tremendous amount of damage. After discussion with a contractor, stone surround manufacturer and fireplace manufacturer we tore down the wall. The things that we found were as follows:
a) fireplace not properly insulated with a clear view outside
b) plastic covering the insulation was in contact with the flume - possible fire risk
c) holes were drilled directly into the fireplace to support the installation of the framing invalidating the warranty of the fireplace
d) electrical wire installation was so tight that it could crack the wire
e) gas installation was poorly done
f) wall frame was constructed out of sub-par materials and had no additional support
g) stone surround was glued with landscape glue directly on painted plywood - stone surround manufacturer was shown photos and called it the most "brutal" installation he has seen
h) repeated calls to try and resolve the situation with Air Solutions were not returned
i) owner of the company had a bad response to trying to solve the issues

All in all i would never recommend this company to friends or associates as they really do not get customer service.
