My husband and I purchased a central vac system from the Vacuum Man at the home show in 2007. The system was purchased for our new house that was scheduled to be completed in December 2007.
On the contract, we were advised to call the company back in November to provide the exact address and the closing date so that a meeting can be scheduled for Vacuum Man to complete the installation.
Telephone call was made end of November. Jennifer at the Vacuum Man told us call back at a later date to schedule an appointment for her father to come in for the installation. An appointment could not be scheduled at that time because her father was injured.
Several phone calls were made but we were always told that it is uncertain when her father would be ready for the installation. This is understandable because we wouldn't want her father to work if he has not made a full recovery yet.
By the end of December, a appointment was finally made for Jennifer's father to come on January 5, 2008 at 10:30 am. I called just before 10:30 to make sure that he was clear with the direction to come to our place. We were assured that it was not a problemm for him to find our house.
One hour later at 11:30am, father did not show up. We placed a call and spoke to Jennifer whom told us that she was not able to locate her father. She promised to call us back. At 12:30, we called Jennifer again but no one answer the phone. We waited until 2:30 and finally realized that he would never show up.
We called several times after but no one picked up the phone. Messages were left but no call was returned.
When we finally got to speak to Jennifer, which was in February, she informed us that she could not fulfill her contract.
We asked to have our $50 deposit returned. She said the credit card machine didn't work but she would try again in a couple of days. A week went by, no $50 back in our credit card. We followed up with another phone call. This time Jennifer told us that she probably put the credit through a wrong credit card. She then admit that she no longer had our credit card number with her. We waited for another week and eventually the deposit was returned.
