I ordered 7 draperies from Sun Shades. They did not follow the specs. I ordered Somfy curtain motors. Somfy is the best brand, but they sent me a different brand. I ordered 3 times fabric/rod length, but only one came with approximately 3X. Others are less than 3X. 3X fabric is critical for providing privacy as it is for sheers on the main floor. The KS track they used was not straight. One rod became bent, later its brackets were broken. Low grade hardware.
Due to broken brackets, the drapery and heavy rod could fall anytime and pose potential safety hazard to property and humans. I had to support it with a pole and stop using it. My attached picture shows the broken brackets and the drywall started cracking. I emailed the owner Angie to arrange an urgent repair last week, but she did not respond at all.
The owner Angie and I had a talk about ordering the right Somfy motors and altering the draperies to make it 3X fabric. But now she refused to carry out the correction and demanded that I pay in full.
I paid 75% already. After what happened above, I have no confidence to pay the remaining 25% at this point as the owner Angie does not provide a plan to fix the issues. Based on my experience so far, I got a feeling I would be kicked away once the payment is made in full. I offered her a progress payment plan for her to complete the project and get paid. But she demanded me to pay the remaining 25% right away, otherwise, she would put a lien on my house.
All I want is to get the draperies as per specs, then pay in full. However, Sun Shades only wants the payment without sending the right specified products and without any action to fix the outstanding quality and installation defects. I proposed progress payment and a negotiable work schedule plan, but Angie did not even want to discuss it at all. I guess they might abandon this project because of the extra cost to correct their mistakes. They gave wrong products, but they pointed fingers at me and said I breached the contract. As a matter of fact, she breached the contract by sending the wrong products.
Now I am left with a drapery w/ broken brackets supported by a pole (picture attached), two uninstalled draperies with wrong motors, and possible lien on my house and a lawsuit.
Other issues such as living room curtains with wrong length, uneven ripple fold, dining room two panels installed wrong, one blind ordered wrong, a few blinds not fitting well and improper installation, very delayed site visit and bad customer service. The Sun Shades designer (as an employee) does not care.
