John, Idila and their team are great to deal with, excellent at what they do and very professional. The Solocrete team are highly skilled workers who do a fantastic job. Everyone is friendly and willing to take the time to answer your questions including John who is the owner of the company. John is a very honest individual who takes great pride in providing quality work and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction. We have seen the work of other companies and in our opinion, John's quality of work, his artistic vision, his attention to detail and the passion he exhibits is second to none. We expected great work but John by far exceeded our expectations. The completed job is beautiful and has certainly added a great deal of value to our home. We spoke with Frank for a quote and he was very nice and explained the process of what they do and what would happen and we signed with him and gave a deposit. Although the process was nothing what he explained to us. We were told they would let us know a day or two before they would come to start excavation so we can take any plants or bushes out. This was in the fall so it was a good time to transplant. To our unexpected surprise they arrived at 7am with their machines and just started tearing through everything. I lost all the bushes and plants I wanted to keep. The job ended up looking good but there was no communication with us until payment was required. Overall it worked out but a little disappointing.

Superb customer service and very professional work. John was thorough from start to finish, answering all my questions with 100% satisfaction. I live on a very busy street with lots of passersby whom complimented my driveway.

The Framer/Forming guy (Yvan) was very creative and helpful in designing the project. Alberto did an amazing job in completing the stairs with a bullnose finish. I would also like to thank Victor and Carlo for their excellent work.

John (the owner of the business) is an ultimate professional who believes in quality workmanship and does what he says he will do. He has a team of specialists for the different steps of the stamped concrete process. It was evident that John and his team members are skilled and take pride in doing a good job. They were friendly and ever ready to answer questions.

Very impressed with the end result - already getting good reviews from my neighbours. Using Dufferin Concrete for the concrete is a testament to their commitment in delivering a quality product.

Before selecting Solocrete, I actually drove around and saw their work around GTA. I spoke to some of the people who had used them and generally got positive feedback. So then Jon came and gave me the best price compared to the 5 other quotes I had gotten at the time. Due to all this I decided to go with them.

Solocrete has a hugee team of specialized guys who all know what they are doing. The site was always left clean and the work done has been superb. Everyone who walks by gives me compliments on my driveway. Another challenging part of my driveway are 7 giant stairs leading to the main entrance. Jon made sure that those stairs don't move anywhere by creating a strong structure before pouring concrete. I also had Jon put up two 5' pillars on either side of the driveway entrance. Again Jon poured ALOT of concrete to ensure that they don't move either.

Finally, there was a small chip that I noticed this year so called up Jon to ask if he can fix it. The driveway also needed another coat of the sealer because my work was done very close to winter so the original sealer probably didn't get the climate to stick on too well (Jon had told me right then that if the sealer doesn't stick then he will reseal this summer). I am really happy to say that Solocrete kept their word and came back to fix the chip and reseal the driveway. It looks good as new.

Thank you Solocrete for your great workmanship and honesty. Jon's no bs attitude may at times feel a little harsh..lol, but he is really a great guy who has gone above and beyond when called upon. His team also really respects him and I can see why. He is not scared to get his hands dirty when needed, and also knows seems to know everything there is to know about this trade.

I am going to be using Solocrete to work on my side and backyard now and would recommend this company to anyone in a heartbeat.

First of all I want to say that the job done by Solocrete was very good and the installation of stamped concrete was lovely. However, I have learned a few things over the years as it is now 10 years old. I want to share the lessons learned

1) Stamped concrete is not great in the winter. The anti slip grip is part of the sealing but in reality it does not work. For that alone I would not do it again
2) if you are recommended to build curved steps vs. straight steps - go with straight steps. John had recommended large curving steps which looked great. But over time with the weight they have sank to one side. Now I have uneven steps leaning to one side. How do I fix that without tearing them out? I don't know- maybe the footings were not done properly? I did call Solocrete - no help.
3) Overall- once installation is done there really is no service. The concrete does need repairs as you will get cracks. Solocrete does not do repairs or sealing. Would make sense but they cant be bothered. They recommend a third party who is tough to connect with. I have been trying all summer and finally was told - cant seal this year as too busy. Now I have to find someone else. As I said- the concrete is lovely when brand new but it needs maintenance - which Solocrete does not offer. That is what is disappointing. You spend so much money and then no care afterwards.

I had spoken to other companies when I was making the decision but went with Solocrete because I liked John and because of price. The other companies I called now- would come out and do my sealing and fix the concrete only if I had installed with them. I wish Solocrete would do the same.

Lesson learned. I am just sharing my experience.

We had our driveway and porch done 3 years ago and we have our driveway sealed every year but Solocrete. They are professional, on time and do a fantastic job. Our driveway looks like new. Would highly recommend this company.

I did lots of research before hiring Solocrete to do this big job, since I’m very detailed person. I only picked the companies that had very good reviews to give me quotations and listen to what they are offering. Solocrete is the best by far. Some companies I phoned they try to push to write a good review in Homestars website as a hint to offer good warranty, if something happens, which would defeat the purpose of the site. Other companies have good reviews on Homestars but you can’t get any phone numbers of any employee and you can’t even get their last name, they also call form “Unknown” number, if they are using the cell phones, which is scary to work with. Solocrete never asked to write any review which was a good sign. John didn’t hesitate to call me from his cell number. He listened to us and offered more than what we expected. He gave us a very competitive price and the team did very neat job. The team was very professional and friendly to us and to our neighbors. The concrete they used is Dufferin concrete, which is one of the best companies for concrete. I don’t hesitate to recommend them for my friends and family. I love every detail that company team did.

I am so pleased that I choose Solocrete. Hard working guys and amazing skills. when Dufferin concrete pulls up I need front of your house you know you are getting quality concrete and skill.
