kitchen & bathroom plumbing

Milani is a truly reliable and customer focused company.
The technician Darren went beyond what he was called for when he discovered a problem and stayed to investigate the root cause so that I don't have to keep calling plumber back. Truly a professional who takes pride in what he does. Thank you!

Darren did an excellent job

He did an excellent job to re-pipe the old drainage, and then snaked through to fix the clog. Also he made suggestion to replace dishwasher as it is so old, and may cause leaking to downstair.

Toilet Repair

Top notch service experience from start to finish!
This was the first time we used Milani. Am glad to have discovered your company. Every touch point was excellent.
The highlight was the technician, Drew, who was outstanding in every way. He creatively engineered a temporary fix for an obsolete in-wall toilet. He was professional, knowledgeable, efficient, resourceful, empathetic and adaptive in working around our domestic challenges. He was first rate!

Misquoted their estimate and expect us to pay.

Milani technician came to do measurements to provide a job quote for a new heat pump which included "Manufactures warranty supply, one year parts and labour warranty on all other materials and workmanship." This assumes the quote is for a complete and functioning installation.

A new unit was installed by Milani technician (Craig) on December 5, 2023. The unit failed to function properly the first time we used it. Craig came to inspect the unit on July 8, 2024. He believed the issue was due to the length of the drain line connecting the condensate pan drain hole to the wall outlet. He admitted that he recognized during the unit installation the position of the drain hole and the length of the new drain line could pose a problem. To test his theory he disconnected the drain line from the outlet and let it dangle over the bathtub for direct drainage. This test did not fully work, the water still would not drain properly while the heat pump and the fan were running. I reached out to Milani's office to request a call from the technician to discuss. After following up multiple times over the past 2 weeks, the office claimed that Craig was too busy to return my calls. However I received a quote by email to install a condensate pump for $1,000 and it would NOT be covered by the warranty. I did not receive a complete quote up front, nor proper diagnosis of the drainage issue nor an explanation as to how this condensate pump would resolve the unknown/undisclosed issue. I also did not receive an explanation why it would not be covered by the warranty, other than "it wasnt possible to know for sure if a condensate pump was needed." This uncertainty was not communicated in the original job quote. Ever since Milani realized that this job is still under warranty, they have been completely unresponsive and ignore my requests for support. I tried escalating the issue but could not get past the office person who claimed that both the technician and the manager were busy. They have since offered me a 30% discount on the quote (that they should be covering in full) by email, still without any follow up calls to clarify the issue.

It's unacceptable to miss a $1,000 requirement in the quote and the installation and then expect a client to pay while under warranty.

Overcharged and problem not solved

After two unanswered emails to Sonja customer service manager Im writing this review.
Upon calling for a flooded basement bathroom, it was not disclosed there are two price rates. Before 9am, and $200 cheaper after 9am!! We could have made the decision to come after 9am, based on the urgency, if we knew. The service man told us that!!!
The serviceman determined it was a clogged sewer pipe. He only had a 100ft. Auger and was not able to reach the clog. He had no other equipment. We told him we are responsible to the main. He told us to call the City.
Later we noticed our basement toilet was leaking from the bottom. We called back for management but no one in till next day. Wasnt paying again. So after sucking up a leaking toilet for 16 hours Another Milani serviceman came next day and determined the seal had not been installed correctly by the previous serviceman. Milanis fault.
Sp paid $680 for a problem that wasnt fixed and left with a leaky toilet.
4.8 rating!!??? Absolutely not
Would not recommend this company

Replace shower sprout and bathroom faucet

Manik from Milani was punctual, efficient and completed two tasks in one hour. He also gave me a quote for a pressure reducing valve and shut off value. The quote was much lower than a competitor's quote.

Horrible service and overpriced

Horrible service. I paid $2000+ for them to change my furnace/AC blower motor in winter. After less than six months, when summer came, I tried to use AC, but the blower was not starting. I called them to come to check their work, they insisted I had to pay for it. So the second Milani guy came and spent one and half hours and totally had no clue about why the motor was not starting! but he ruthlessly charged me $340! He GUESSED it was the thermostat gong bad, I said please test with yours, he said he did not carry one, then left. Before left, he said I could complain to Milani so I could get some refund, he realized he did a crappy job! I called in another contractor(not Milani!), it turned out the first Milani guy wiring it wrong and second guy did not get it! The new contractor got it fixed in 5 minutes!

Would I recommend Milani? Absolutely NOT!
