Job is well done and price is relatively fair. Roy is very responsive and he did the works carefully after he investigated the pipeline in basement. He thought of the possible causes then just tried 2 times with different snake techniques get the issue resolved. I will recommend Roy to my friends for sure.

This is the second time we have used Mayday Drain Services to clear out our basement storm drain which gets clogged up from tree roots. Roy Gibson has state of the art camera equipment which shows the condition of the drain and, coupled with his expertise and professionalism, provides a maintenance service for us designed to avoid potential problems. He is trustworthy, responds promptly and shows up on time. We will continue to use him in future and recommend him highly.

This review is a bit overdue, but I'm very grateful to Roy for helping my family out in a plumbing emergency. (A bathtub's worth of nasty came up the basement toilet, and we couldn't use our upstairs bathroom either--or, later, run water anywhere in the house.) Excellent service, very very reasonable cost, excellent advice (which I didn't take fully the first time, to my later regret--but Roy was back to save the day when I turned out to need him again!). He even drove me to the bank! I'll spare you the details--it's kind of a long story, actually--but what you need to know is that he did what needed to be done, very well, and charged less than he probably should have. Working with Roy from Mayday was a truly awesome experience. Roy is honest, knowledgeable and patient. Initially I tried to fix the problem myself and he had no problem discussing the problem with me over the phone. When I realized it would be best for me to get professional help, Roy showed up right on time, explained fully the issues and walked through the options with me. His great personality made him fun to work with. (I really was just watching him work instead of working with him there!) He also had a ton of patience. I asked a thousand questions and he answered them all one by one, and sometimes more than once because I was so dense! He took his time to make sure the job was done well, and took the extra steps to answer some of my questions which really had little to do with my current issue. Highly recommended, and I will not hesitate to refer my closest family and friends to him when in need.

For 9 weeks we had a foul smelling leak in our basement. The City initially denied responsibility and numerous visits from plumbers and 'drain specialists' covered by our Plumbing and Drain Insurance failed to identify the cause. Everything from 'we don't know' through to 'it might be the weeping tile and that's not covered by your insurance and will cost thousands to fix'. The reviews on Mayday were so good I phoned just before the August long weekend and spoke with Roy. After asking me a few questions he said it sounded like a sanitation problem and set up an appointment the following week. That weekend was busy. Raw sewage backed into the house next door, sewage shot up from the cleanout in our driveway sending sewage down the street and the City spent many hours trying to fix the problem. They admitted it was their problem due to a blocked sewer. Roy hadn't even visited us at that time but had identified the problem over the phone when for 9 weeks everyone else hadn't had a clue. When Roy came he did a CCTV inspection in 2 areas. He recommended we at some point replace the Back to Back and gave a price $1,000 less than our neighbor had just paid out that weekend. He was everything Homestars reviewers said he was and we have no hesitation in recommending him.

I had a sewer back up in my home and consulted my handyman friend who recommended Mayday Drain. I called and within 24 hours the whole complicated mess was fixed, for cheap. I was also advised (honestly) that my century home might have a repeat problem.

Roy Gibson is a gem! He was responsive in a difficult situation. He was prompt, friendly and efficient. I have seen other services use camera and snake technique and I assure you, Roy is an artist in that field! He is open, straightforward and does not try to "upsell" you the way certain other well-known drain services do. His price was relatively low and he devoted considerable time to doing the job with absolute thoroughness.

Roy was recommended by Flavio of Canda Wide Plumbing. He was able to rearrange his schedule to be there while Flavio was onsite - despite the less than 24 hour lead time.

Roy was incredibly helpful in explaining exactly what was happening as the camera went through the drainage system. Roy explained what items could cause real problems down the road and the items that were not any concern. He also gave me great advice on how to keep any of the issues becoming a problem at all - with very low associated cost.

I was impressed with Roy's efficiency, professionalism and down to earth attitude. I trusted him totally - and his advice on other ongoing issues was incredibly helpful.
