After personally checking our attic prior to replacing our shingles we noticed that the insulation installed by our builder in 2000 was only an R30. No wonder our 2nd floor felt like a complete different climate zone in the summer time. It was so HOT upstairs our AC was working overtime trying to cool the house.
We had Brandon come give us an estimate and he did a very good job of explaining the benefits of adding more insulation and baffles to increase our R rating to an R60! We also had our roofing guy Tom Geo of Mega City Roofing add bigger vents to help draw out the heat from the attic.
The 2 installers that came out did a great job and cleaned up before leaving.
We're really noticed the difference in temperature on the 2nd floor on those few really hot days we've had since the job was done. Can't wait to see how much our hydro bills are reduced over the next year.
