Worst Delivery Experience (multiple calls to support staff, missed delivery, delivery threatened to be cancelled, forced to walk to pick up centre and carry >1m >50 pound furniture back over half a kilometer to home)
Do not do delivery through Ikea.
Details on experience provided below:
0. Order placed 9th December 2024
1. December 11th less than 20 hours delivery notice for December 12th, no staff contactable to reschedule, failed delivered while client at work
2. Follow up from this on same day (December 12th PM), advised that delivery would be rescheduled for following week
3. No contact into next week, client had to follow up a second time on December 17th, advised delivery rescheduled for December 20
4. Phone call on December 19th advising order would be cancelled, will no do repeat delivery as promised, must walk 1km to pick up point (no car) and collect furniture - however this may not be possible without proof of address for new accommodation (Order still not delivered 10 days since order, contacted Ikea staff 3 times without situation resolved despite twice being told it would be resolved, advised has to walk to pick up furniture)
5. Forced to go on foot to pick up furniture in large box (>1m, >50 pounds) and manually take it over half a kilometer back to accomodation
- Summary
Overall the single worst customer service & delivery experience I have experienced
Over 10 days and had to collect it myself and take it home by hand
Multiple calls to Ikea support staff not resolving any of the raised issues
Significant time wasted taking said calls, walking to pick up items, carrying them back, returning sack truck to delivery point & work cancelled on Friday 20th december due to plan to be on site for promised delivery
