Dealing with Greenlawn was a completely frustrating & stressful experience ! We can confidently say that we would never recommend their services to anybody looking for lawn care. Below are some of the reasons and experiences we have had with this company.Hopefully this review helps others save their money & time instead of relying on false promises made by Greenlawn.
- Omitting of key information that should have been shared with customers + inconsistent information shared by all their representatives: When we signed up for their services, obviously we expected that our lawn would be taken care of – this basic service they claim they provide. However through our experience, we realized to our frustration and dismay the reality was otherwise. When they pushed to sell their fancy named services including weed control, they conveniently omitted that the program really did not target weeds control. We had signed up and paid upfront for their services only to find out that weeds still existed and multiplied on our lawn. We phoned them several times for them to come take care of the issue right as weeds spread fast, only to be informed that we needed to sign up and pay for another program separately for weeds. It appeared to us that their strategy of not providing all information upfront helped them sell additional services to poor unsuspecting customers - more money for Greenlawn ! What they didn’t tell us was that the program was a general spray but did not tackle individual weeds. Many weeded patches on the lawn were therefore missed allowing for those weeds to spread and multiply through the lawn. Frustrated as we were, we had no choice but to sign up for additional services/programs incurring additional expenses !! Despite all that, we had to keep phoning them back again to either to 1) request weed application 2) remind them they need to come back for the application as the weeds keep coming back. Also note that their turnaround time is long too – at least 3 business days. Weeds multiplied and spread everywhere !
- They advertise service calls in between applications, but the reality is that it was our headache to keep phoning them, spending 1/2 hour each call explaining the dissatisfaction with their service. Representatives are trained to repeat phrases 'I understand but...' and 'I apologize but...' , unfortunately they offer no solutions to your weed problems. Turnaround of their services are slow and can take up to 3 days for their technician on the field to call you back. By then weeds already spread to other areas of not only our lawn but neighbouring lawns as well !
- Apart from withholding of the above information at the onset, what they also didn’t inform us about their ‘weed intensive care program’ was that weed control was weather dependant and required cooler temperatures (less than 25-28 degrees). Again, we were mislead into believing that any weeds on our lawn would be taken care of all through summer. The week of July 22, 12 we phoned them back to inform that weeds were taking over our lawn again (note temperatures that were lower at under 28 degrees). Despite our reminders that week, they only provided fertilizer application, not weed control. Weeds merrily multiplied on our lawn again !
- Technicians: Their technicians tends to make their own decisions about your lawn condition, from my experience sometimes even before they come to your property. Our preference was that technicians serviced our property on days that we were home so we could better address the issue and ensured they treated the entire lawn. However it appeared that their technicians preferred to show up when we were not home !
Overall, we spent hours on phone with their customer service, repeatedly explaining the poor service we were experiencing at each call only to our wasted time, added frustration and no solutions ! From our experience with Greenlawn, the issue of weed continued through their service period. What a waste of our time and money!!!
