I bought a house with Great Gulf last year and moved in November in Brampton. Do not ever buy wth GG. What they say in Sales office is not what they do in Deco centre. They are all working for commission and only interested in their commission. will not recommend to any one. After delivery service is good. but by that time you have already made the commitment and there is nothing you can do about it. Sales office Lesley is the worst sales person i have ever seen. Dont ever go in there.

I purchased my first home with Great Gulf in Oshawa. I had heard many horror stories regarding new home builders but I wanted my home to reflect my vision with having to do a lot of renovations. The sales staff were wonderful and very helpful. We had an issue with our under mount sink and they responded promptly. We have various things come up but Great Gulf was and still is always there even four years after we bought. A very trustworthy builder

I have lived in this Great Gulf home for the past 9 years. It is a detached, two-story, double car garage house in a 'Fairhaven' floor plan. The overall quality of the home is very good. For the first few years we took advantage of the 7year warranty & had minor services done regularly without many problems. One issue still remains with the temperature control of the upstairs bedroom above the porch. It appears to be poorly insulated; it's the warmest room in the summer & the coldest room in the winter. They explained that because it has more exterior exposed sides than other rooms that it would always have that problem & there was nothing they could really do about it. Other than that the gas fireplace has only worked once but because we never need it it's not much of an issue.

We bought a detached house from great gulf anc couldnt be happier...the sales staff was very helpful even after we signed the contract they were always there to answer all our queries and solve any problems....the decor centre experience was also good...they have very fair prices as compared to other big builders

I have to say that after living in my Great Gulf home for almost 7 years now, I am very disappointed. The floor in the smallest bedroom always made a loud popping sound. My dad pulled up the carpet and low and behold the wall was nailed down properly and they put in a piece of plywood on the floor where there was approx 4x4 piece broken out of the sheet and they just patched it in. The drywall in the main floor hallway looks like they had a kid come in for the day and slap it on. You can see every seam. The eves-troughs in the back have all pulled away from the roof and needed to be fixed. I've lived in townhouses before but never have I had the pleasure of being able to hear my neighbours making love or snoring! If it wasn't true it would almost be funny. I wouldn't buy another of their townhouses. I think they put more effort into their more expensive homes but definitely go cheap with labour etc on this house. If you buy one of their homes invest a lot of time with site visits and keep on top of workmanship.

We are third time home buyers...first time from Great Gulf Homes. From the beginning to the end, we have had nothing but bad experiences with this builder. When it came to deposits, we were ready to put down the whole amount in cash or cheque, however they wanted the money and they declined our money. They wanted to go by the book and waste our time to have money in an account where they could take quarterly deposits from...therefore wasting my time to open a seperate account and now wait for cheques to be mailed to me which takes 7-10 business days.

Next issue is when it came time to lay the sod in the front and back yard of the house after 4 months of living there. They came and laid the sod with huge gaps in between and when we complained about it, they said it was our fault for not tending to the grass and watering it as per their instructions. Well, guess what, my fiance and I are busy people with lives....we turned the water sprinkler on in the evening and let it run all night, yet by the end of the summer, we had huge gaps still in the grass. We tore it all up and got a professional to come put proper looking sod in for us which looked amazing.

Their overall customer service timing to get back to us was horrible, it always took more then 2 weeks to get back to us and we will NEVER buy from Great Gulf again. We prefer by far, 100% Tribute Homes. They are the BEST EVER!!!

The prices were reasonable, in addition their claim to fame of great customer service, well, I'd have to say they did live up to their claim,customer service was fairly prompt, and the premium for their ravines were very reasonable.

Great Gulf is exceptional at customer service. They are #1 for a reason.

The entire experience of Great Gulf - from beginning to end - was exceptional.
They offered guidance and suggestions. As a new home owner these tips are priceless.
Will purchase Great Gulf again.
