I purchased a limited edition item online the morning it went on sale and got confirmation from EB Games that my purchase was successful. Given that I had confirmation that I had purchased the item, I understandably did not go out to purchase it.
EB Games' site states that items purchased online will be processed the next business day. Two days passed and my order had not been updated. I sent an email to ask what was happening, and was told that they had oversold and I would not be getting the product, and because it was a limited edition, it was sold out everywhere.
I called and complained that, not only was I upset that they had oversold and that was irresponsible, but that they did not take the initiative to notify me as such within their self-imposed and advertised one-day time. I missed out on the product. They advised that this "happens all of the time" and told me there was nothing that could be done. I advised that this is an irresponsible business practice, they didn't seem to care. After fighting with them for a while I got a $10 coupon to use in their online store. Whoop-de-doo.
Don't order online. They advised me themselves that they oversell all of the time, and apparently they don't tell you about it until you ask.
