Buyer beware of return policy

For a home renovation project in 2010, I purchased all the faucets and plumbing fixtures from Bath Emporium and the service and prices were fantastic. The total was approximately 15K. Fast forward to 2018 . After a flood happened and the faucet purchased in 2010 needed to be replaced. I attended the store and dealt with Jasmeet. At first it seemed like nothing had changed from 2010. I attended the store and explained the flood to Jasmeet and shared I needed the exact same faucet I purchased in 2010. Everything seem normal, Jasmeet looked it up and placed the order for the replacement faucet. Upon pick up, a male employee asked why was a replacement faucet purchased after hearing the story (cannot recall name) and indicated the original faucet had a full warranty. He advised to return the old faucet for a full warranty. All seemed right with the world and the new faucet came home. The insurance contractors that were repairing the kitchen took the replacement faucet out and installed it only to discover, Jasmeet had ordered the incorrect faucet. She was supplied the original model and invoice and our file was still on record. The faucet she ordered could not attach the side spray (also purchased from Bath Emporium) as she ordered the incorrect model number. This in essence rendered the faucet useless. I didn’t think there would be an issue to return it. I was shocked at the lack of support from Jasmeet. She denied any responsibility in ordering the incorrect faucet, and proceeded to refuse a refund. I will be filing a small claim court action against this store as it is unacceptable to not accept a return on a product they incorrectly ordered. For any future buyers. Heed my advice. The store deals with great Canadian companies; however, I draw to you attention their return policy. It is at the stores discretion. Which in essence means, you better hope you have no problems with your items or they will not accept a return. For any future projects. I will definitely stick to a larger box store which also offers quality service and great brand names. I recommend you do the same. If you run into any problems with your order. This store will not support you. Regardless of how much you spend or refer to them. I hope this review is helpful for any potential customers, make sure you ask about their return policy prior to placing an order. It is very risky to order from any store that only does returns at their discretion.

Poor service

We bought a single lever faucet from this place with a lifetime warranty and it broke over three weeks ago. They told us they had to contact the manufacturer but could not contact them before Christmas (we contacted them December 17) and as such had to wait until the new year. I finally got ahold of them today and after 3 weeks Bath Emporium told us our faucet, which is broken, was broken by "physical damage" and is NOT covered by warranty and there is a replacement piece which will take 6 WEEKS and cost us $50 to replace, unbelievable. I would not recommend buying anything at this place in future.

Custom vanity for bathroom renovation

My husband and I worked with Yosh to purchase a custom 60" vanity from Bath Emporium. The vanity options we chose were the Trebecca walnut veneer doors, maple wood drawers, maple melamine interior, and Silestone countertop. Yosh was initially very helpful, and took the time to answer our questions and show us different product options to fit our needs. He was also quick to respond to emails when we had follow-up questions.

After selecting the finishes and explaining the design we were looking for, we then worked with project manager Grigori, who created the drawings. The drawings initially had some incorrect measurements and unclear information, and it took a few revisions before they were accurate, but Grigori was fairly quick to address our concerns.

Everything was going well until the installation of the vanity. First, there was some miscommunication with Yosh; until dates were being scheduled for the install, we were not informed that the delivery would have to happen at least a few days prior (not on the same day). We were also not informed that "install" only meant the installation of the vanity base; the countertop and sinks would need to be installed at a later date, by a company to which Bath Emporium outsources this work. Every step of the process required another date that my husband and I needed to arrange to be at home.

When the vanity base was installed, two of the four cupboard doors arrived with scratches (see attached photos). Grigori arranged for someone to return a couple of days later to polish out the scratches, which luckily worked to remove them. However, we were starting to feel concerned about the quality of the product, and have since noticed other small scratches. Grigori insisted that the doors are "solid walnut." They are not; they are walnut veneer. The lighter base is clearly visible in the areas that have been scratched. The installers also took a chunk out of the marble threshold at the entrance to the bathroom, and scraped off some of the paint on the corner of the wall, which our contractor had to repair.

The installers also said that they would return to pick up their garbage (see photo). After no one had returned or contacted us in a few days, we complained to Yosh and Grigori. Yosh said "I never promised you about picking up garbage because we never pick up garbage from condos as its always a problem for parking the truck. But I can still get it done for you." Again, evidence of miscommunication. And while Yosh offered to send someone after the garbage had been sitting in our place for over a week, we would have again needed to arrange to work from home for that to happen. In the end, we just threw it out ourselves so that we could clean our condo and move back in.

The countertop installers used by Bath Emporium were also frustrating to work with. They first came to measure the vanity and arrived 1.5 hours after the window of time they indicated. When they returned a few days later to install the countertop, they were 2 hours late. We were told that the managers left the store for another job, leaving our installers to man the store in their absence. Both times, we had to contact the company to find out why they hadn't shown up - they never contacted us.

In the end, we are happy with the look of our vanity (minus the small scratches), but are not convinced that it's worth the $6100 we paid for it. The process was anything but smooth, and the misinformation throughout made it difficult to trust what Yosh and Grigori told us. We will not be purchasing anything from Bath Emporium in the future.

Bathroom reno

We knew that we wanted to renovate our bathroom and that was all so we stopped one day at Bath Emporium where we ran into Yosh and.....the rest is history.
He did more than we expected and politely guided us towards the best solution for our project. He was very very patient especially with my wife who had a million questions.....but he did it without any problems. One example where he went above and beyond was when we needed to provide specific technical details about our faucets that the inspector requested. He managed to get all the details from Italy in August when all Italy is on vacation!
Of course, we spent more than we originally planned but now we have a dream bathroom.....and also because we are happy with this one we decided that another one needs a reno too, so Yosh get ready...we will be back soon!

Whole House Renovation

Deciding to undergo a home renovation is a scary thing, but hiring Bath Emporium Castle Kitchens was the best decision my family has made. We dealt specifically with Jodi, Prince and Jasmeet. From the beginning they guided us through the entire process and advised on great design ideas. Furthermore, the products and tradesmen were of very high quality and exceeded our expectations. Even during the reno, the team often came in to ensure the project was running smoothly.

Along with great quality, they offered amazing design ideas we didn't get anywhere else. For our kitchen remodel we removed two supporting walls that previously made the kitchen seem small. This allowed us to add more cabinetry for storage and provide an open floor plan to our house. My mom was very happy with the final outcome and now has her dream kitchen. Along with the kitchen, we remodeled all the bathrooms, laundry, closets, flooring, and stairs. The company showroom was also a great help in being able to see the products and functionality.

We decided to renovate before my sisters wedding, and our post reno home was a great space for all of our functions. All of our family and friends were blown away! We even ended up inviting the team to the wedding festivities!

The final outcome of the Reno far exceeded my expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend Bathemp Castle Kitchens.

EN-SUITE AND POWDER ROOM RENO

I had sterling service from Yosh Chhabra. My renovations were particularly fraught with missing/mismatched hardware and a valve that didn’t work but that all was sorted out with the dealer and manufacturer. My melting episode was the hefty restocking fee and return freight charges (back to Montreal) on the tub. Not only was Yosh there to assist in his very patient way, but also managed to have management stepped in to find ways to help balance my budget.

I couldn’t be happier in my dealings with Yosh and Bath Emporium.

Thank you.

Great selection and customer services

We shopped around for our bathroom renovation at several stores before we found Bath Emporium. Amy was the sales helping us to make the selection. She was nice and sweet, thoughtful, very knowledgeable and patient when answering all our questions during the several visits. It was a pleasant, comfortable and hassle-free experience when talking with her even one time we made her to stay really late. She followed up with me and sent me the specs in time. I strongly recommend Amy Yu if you visit Bath Emporium Markham store :)
