1/10

My husband and I worked with Yosh to purchase a custom 60" vanity from Bath Emporium. The vanity options we chose were the Trebecca walnut veneer doors, maple wood drawers, maple melamine interior, and Silestone countertop. Yosh was initially very helpful, and took the time to answer our questions and show us different product options to fit our needs. He was also quick to respond to emails when we had follow-up questions. After selecting the finishes and explaining the design we were looking for, we then worked with project manager Grigori, who created the drawings. The drawings initially had some incorrect measurements and unclear information, and it took a few revisions before they were accurate, but Grigori was fairly quick to address our concerns. Everything was going well until the installation of the vanity. First, there was some miscommunication with Yosh; until dates were being scheduled for the install, we were not informed that the delivery would have to happen at least a few days prior (not on the same day). We were also not informed that "install" only meant the installation of the vanity base; the countertop and sinks would need to be installed at a later date, by a company to which Bath Emporium outsources this work. Every step of the process required another date that my husband and I needed to arrange to be at home. When the vanity base was installed, two of the four cupboard doors arrived with scratches (see attached photos). Grigori arranged for someone to return a couple of days later to polish out the scratches, which luckily worked to remove them. However, we were starting to feel concerned about the quality of the product, and have since noticed other small scratches. Grigori insisted that the doors are "solid walnut." They are not; they are walnut veneer. The lighter base is clearly visible in the areas that have been scratched. The installers also took a chunk out of the marble threshold at the entrance to the bathroom, and scraped off some of the paint on the corner of the wall, which our contractor had to repair. The installers also said that they would return to pick up their garbage (see photo). After no one had returned or contacted us in a few days, we complained to Yosh and Grigori. Yosh said "I never promised you about picking up garbage because we never pick up garbage from condos as its always a problem for parking the truck. But I can still get it done for you." Again, evidence of miscommunication. And while Yosh offered to send someone after the garbage had been sitting in our place for over a week, we would have again needed to arrange to work from home for that to happen. In the end, we just threw it out ourselves so that we could clean our condo and move back in. The countertop installers used by Bath Emporium were also frustrating to work with. They first came to measure the vanity and arrived 1.5 hours after the window of time they indicated. When they returned a few days later to install the countertop, they were 2 hours late. We were told that the managers left the store for another job, leaving our installers to man the store in their absence. Both times, we had to contact the company to find out why they hadn't shown up - they never contacted us. In the end, we are happy with the look of our vanity (minus the small scratches), but are not convinced that it's worth the $6100 we paid for it. The process was anything but smooth, and the misinformation throughout made it difficult to trust what Yosh and Grigori told us. We will not be purchasing anything from Bath Emporium in the future.
