Altima Kitchens

Altima Kitchens and Closets did a fantastic job with our laundry cabinets! They efficiently utilized the limited space available and created cabinets that are not only functional but also visually appealing. The cabinets have greatly improved the organization and efficiency of our laundry room. The team was punctual, professional, and worked diligently to complete the project on time.

I prepared a spec sheet of all the details and requirements to provide to 3 companies for a quote. Frankly, I wasn't impressed with any of them even though they ranked high on various sites. I remember loving the show with Sarah Richardson & Tommy Smyth because of their tastes and standards so I went to Design Inc. and looked at who they had used for kitchens and Altima showed up a number of times. My son and I both wanted new kitchens so took our design (which I created myself) and requirements to Val who spent a Saturday morning with us. When I said I wanted a 'pull-out' pantry he explained why it was more expensive and harder on the mechanisms and then recommended something better. He reviewed the various materials and gave great details on savings and value. I LOVE THIS GUY. You have to know what you want before talking to anyone. Provide photos if possible and be ready for a reality check. Have every decision made before starting because changes can cost money and time. Speaking of time, talk to Val at least 3 months before start time to ensure your place in his busy line. Val was ALWAYS available and more so, patient. My quotes were $13,500, $18,000 & $21,000. Val's was certainly higher - but he understand my standards and expectations. When you can trust someone with your hard-earned cash, it is a good feeling and we completely trusted Val in every step. Then there is Vic who handles the installation. There were a few hiccups (very small) which required some attention and I never worried about bringing them to Val's and Vic's attention - because they want their work to live up to their promise and they do indeed. I waited for five years to launch this project because I was waiting to find the look I wanted and I certainly got it because Val understood my wants and needs. I strongly recommend Altima to anyone who wants their dream kitchen. At the same time - I wouldn't recommend Kitchenaid appliances which we spent $10,000 for a fridge, stove and dishwasher only to be royally disappointed. Otherwise our cabinetry, counter and banquet are a little bit of heaven.

Our family has used Altima Kitchens on 4 occasions for various projects, most recently a kitchen and master bathroom vanity in a new home. They are great to deal with. Val, their customer service rep, is great. Serge, their builder, builds quality cabinets. Vic, their installer is terrific. The prices are climbing, but in our experience, the quality is worth it. We would use again.

The entire experience with Altima has been smooth and pleasant.
Their cost was well on par with other custom kitchen manufacturers and came in $10,000 less expensive than a semi-custom from a chain store! BUT it is their service, product and personnel, that makes them stand out.
I was pleased with the product when I saw it in their show room, especially when I learned that it is manufactured locally and was not being shipped in from Quebec or Italy, so any tweaks are easily handled. They produced a cabinet profile for me that was not in their general catalogue and supplied samples of custom paint colours at a reasonable cost so I could be confident in my final choice.
From the beginning Marco, the kitchen designer, listened to my wish list, guided me through any changes necessary in the “real world”, and worked hard to fit all of my must haves in, beautifully. He is able to” think outside of the box” and suggested features I would not have considered.
Peter, the installer, “the perfectionist” installed this custom jewel in a methodical, neat and precise manner. Any hiccups due to my old and slightly crooked walls were pointed out to me with solutions explained and then dealt with in a seamless way. At one point Vic the owner even arrived to insure that all was good and I was happy with the product.
After Altima was finished and a mishap or two occurred due to other trades, Marco was at the rescue to assess and Vic, the owner, arrived to reinstall after every thing was repaired.
All through the process both Marco and Vic have been there to insure that my DREAM KITCHEN was nothing but that, absolutely NO NIGHTMARES!

Altima is a terrific kitchen company. I've recommended them a few times and we've used them 2x for kitchen renovations. I would not hesitate to use them again (if the price is right). Unfortunately it seems their popularity has driven their prices up over the past 7 or 8 years, but they are professional and provide good installation and service. Val brings a lot of great design ideas and options.

We love our kitchen layout and cabinets. The biggest difference between Altima and the other kitchen guys was that they were able to come up with a design plan for our small kitchen that has made it super-efficient and a fabulous place to now cook and hang out in. They arranged everything worked with Tasco to coordinate the size of the appliances I purchased dealt with the granite guys and came by to visit the site when it was being demolished to make sure all was going okay on time. The installation was done with attention to detail and on time. Their follow through and accessibility were top notch. I would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone!!!

Used them for a new kitchen. They are average. Not great but not bad. Just average.
