He showed up as agreed, after 4pm.
He diagnosed the fan, fan motor and switch as
the problem. The GE refrigerator is only 5 years old.
He quoted $250.00 plus tax to fix. We agreed. He fixed
it and took the old parts so I can't test the parts and
confirm that all three parts were damamged.
We live in an old house (135 yrs old). When he pulled
the fridge out, he gouged the wood floors. I don't think
he noticed or seemed care. Maybe he thought they were old
anyway and it didn't matter.
As he left, my wife said, "be careful on the steps, it's icy."
His response was "why, so if I fall, I don't sue you?"
There was no warranty on the parts for the fridge, so if they
break down tomorrow, we are out of luck. The fridge is working and
that's what counts, but for $280.00 it wasn't an enjoyable experience.
