after a visit from a prcfessional and knowledgable sales person, we ordered 4 windows from Albern including a very large now window. The service was prompt and the windows are gorgeous. The installation went extremely well and we are happy with the product. Salesman Frank was easy to deal with, helpful and friendly. We have more windows to replace and will use Albern again

Paul and Lori were recommended to me by a friend and I am thrilled with my new windows and doors. The product is exceptional, the installation was great and the entire team; Paul, Lori, Nathan, Mike, Todd, Dave.....everyone has been awesome to deal with. Any time there was any issue that arose, Paul made sure that it was addressed immediately and taken care of.
I would highly recommend Albern to anyone looking for windows and doors!

As a Renovation Interior Designer I see many companies who claim to be great, but have little follow through. Jeff Neveu from Albern has a huge dedication to the Customer and to me, the Designer / Project Manager - who is ultimately responsible for the outcome of the Project / Reno. Even though Albern's office is in Pickering, Jeff Neveu traveled to my Client's home many tines to make sure the details were right. Jeff always took calls from me and from the homeowner to ask about details, and installation dates and just overall "how will this work with that" questions. He is great to work with!
That kind of attention tells me he cares, has the back up of his company and that they are ALL committed to being a long term project contributors. We are only as good as our last project - and for Jeff and Albern, their Project in Markham is great - as are the rest of the people who have contributed from Albern.
I recommend Albern and will continue to do so going forward.

We met Jeff at the 2014 Home Show. We loved how he listened to what we wanted without doing the hard sell. We had him do two windows in our home (kitchen and dining room). They are just lovely and the service we received was outstanding.
We loved them so much that when we bought our new house we went right back to them. We replaced all the windows and doors in the house. Again the service was excellent and that says something considering the project has been a huge challenge. We had them make the two basement windows much bigger, which meant they had to dig, tie into the weeping tile and put in window wells. Our living room window is huge and they still managed to give us a beautiful awning window. We went with a custom stained glass front door. They had us meet with the glass designer so that we got exactly what we wanted. That door is just stunning. It is an absolute show stopper. They also did our garage door. So everything was a perfect colour match. I would recommend Jeff and his team any day.

On two occasions in the last year and a half, we have called upon Paul and Albern to help us with our windows and front door purchases. Both times, Paul's experience and eye for detail were extremely helpful with offering suggestions as we weren't quite sure what we wanted. Mike the installer was awesome, both times he looked after the jobs like he was doing the install at his own house. We are quite pleased with Albern's knowledge and service...we will use them again and would highly recommend them!

I met Jeff at the Fall Home Show in Toronto and he seemed nice and friendly. He also provided one of the most competitive quotes of all the people I talked to that day.

That is where the pros stop though. Since then, dealing with them has been a challenge. They originally told me that they could order the door while we choose our hardware. Then weeks later I am told that they can't order the door until I've chosen my hardware, which wasted a month. So I rushed to choose my hardware so that they could order my door. Then they mail me the wrong invoice (they sent me someone else's, which leads me to believe mine was sent to the other people, which isn't very professional).

Getting in touch with them is hit or miss. I also asked for a quote for additional hardware for my other doors, which they have yet to provide.

We met Paul at the Home Show as we were immediately attracted to the door on display. Needing to replace a set of 40 year old double doors, this one was unique as a side light also opened so we still had space for larger items. Having ordered doors before I knew their pricing was higher than what I've spent in the past, confirmed by their quote for window replacements being 60% higher than reputable competitors, but the door was unique and it's the one we wanted. This spring I did 9 major projects on the house totalling well in excess of $100k. Albern was the first contractor I signed a deal with and they were the last to get the job completed. I left messages, had verbal commitments of a call back that wouldn't happen and experienced a tremendous amount of frustration just trying to get a straight answer on when the door would be installed. Three months after signing the contract they showed up with a door that was 4 inches too narrow. I wasn't given a heads up that someone was ever coming to measure and apparently for the first time in history the person who did the measurements, supposedly having worked there for 30+ years, made a mistake. I urgently needed the door installed so the installer did a great job of building the frame out, as a temporary measure. But you could tell from how well it was finished that they had no desire to give me the full size door I had ordered as they had to order this as a custom size, due to the mis-measurement and didn't want to incur more costs. I was shocked the next day to see they had charged my credit card for the balance less $500, without getting my approval to charge that much or that it was to go on that card. The following week Paul calls to convince me to keep the smaller door and of course they'd discount it. Guess how much of a discount? The $500 of course! That wasn't even in the ballpark of what would have been acceptable for giving up 4 inches of the doorway. For what was supposed to be another two weeks to get the correct sidelights took another two months. Given how many contractors I've worked with this year I would naturally have expected to have some sort of challenge along the way with some of them. All of my vendors were awesome to work with, keeping to their quoted timeframes and delivering a quality product the first time, except one - Albern Windows & Doors. We love the door and have had lots of compliments which is why I'm giving them 1 star. There are many other choices for windows and doors, I will not be using them in the future nor would I recommend them.

I had all windows and 2 sliding doors (one 8 ft) replaced in my home and couldn't be happier. The first things I noticed was improved house temperature and a decrease in outside noise. Being a shift worker and needing to sleep during the day with very noisy children next door the quality of the windows made a huge difference. We went from painted wood window sills to vinyl and I just love how I can wipe the sills easily and always look clean. Paul suggested awning windows to give a clean unobstructed view of the ravine which has been a good choice allowing lots of light. I can leave them open and not have to worry about closing them in the rain. Paul also suggested making our laundry room window bigger. It was a small 20x20 high up the wall and was changed to a awning window that comes down to just above the sink allowing lots of light in the small room making it feel larger with a nice view. I wouldn't have known something like that could be done and you can't tell from the outside brick that it was changed. The work was done neatly and quickly. It was a pleasure working with the staff at Albern. They made what I felt was going to be a huge renovation and inconvenience go very smooth and so worth while.
