Acorn Wood Floors

We have used Acorn Wood Floors before so it was an easy decision to go with them again. We did not even get any other quotes because we were so impressed with them the first time. Great customer service from Ron, Sandra and the crew. They did a fabulous job and were very thorough and prompt. We would totally recommend Acorn.

This review is well overdue as we had Acorn come in last year and the year before to work on our house. I have been really busy but have not forgotten the great work that they did at our place. We bought an old house with the intent of renovating it. However, it wasn't until I removed the old carpet that I realized how poorly the house was built. Some rooms were slanted badly and the stairs were not flat. Ron came to have a look and made suggestions of possible solutions that could fix our problems. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out things that other contractors didn't catch when they came to provide a quote. We felt at ease that we were choosing someone that clearly knew their stuff. Sandy was also great when we went to their shop to look at the different flooring options. She was able to help us find something that suited our taste and fit our budget. Since I was doing most of the renovations by myself while maintaining my full time job, the progress on my home project was very slow. Acorn was very patient and was able to split the flooring project to accommodate my pace. Ron had his team come in to perform the leveling and install the laminate on a couple of the floors of the house. Then Ron and his son rebuilt the first flight of stairs. What a huge difference! We were extremely happy with the results. We were able to move in after that which made it easier for me to work on the rest of the house. The second time they came in was to finish the laminate for the remainder of the house and rebuild another set of stairs. This was during the great heat wave of 2021. The "feels like" temp in Port Coquitlam during those few days was close to 50 degrees Celsius. I was surprised to not receive a call from Acorn to reschedule but really appreciated that they respected our time as we were hoping to get it done as soon as possible. Ron and his son still came in and got the job done. The quality was again top notch. How they managed to withstand the heat outside to cut the flooring still amazes me. This showed me that they were really dedicated to their work and it turned out great. We get a lot of complements about the floor when guests come to visit. We want to give a big thank you to everyone at Acorn. We couldn't have done this project with them.

I was referred to Acorn Wood Floors by a colleague who had them in to refinish her hardwood floors. I wasn't really sure what to expect, never having had work like this done before. Ron came to our house, explained the process step by step, and answered all of our questions. We had two more estimates completed and none showed the value or the level of professionalism that Ron displayed coming to my house that day.

The work was booked and started on time. Ron and his team were very professional, showed up on time, and did a great job. I wasn't sold on any of the colors that Ron had in samples, but his team helped me pick a custom color by painting 4 custom "swatches" on the sanded floor for me to pick from. I ended up with exactly what I wanted! Awesome!

Ron was very responsive and quickly resolved any concerns I had. The floors look amazing and I am so happy with the final product. I would not hesitate to recommend Acorn Wood Floors for your floors. They really do go above and beyond and provide exceptional value for the service they provide.

Amazing job refinishing floors that were wax coated. Result is beyond expectations.

We recently had Ron install install Vintage hardware flooring in our Living and dining room. As usual, Acorn did a fantastic job. Working with Sandra and Ron was a pleasure. They kept us informed from the selection and ordering process to the final installation. This is the second time we have used Acorn in two different residences. Both times we were pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend them. They are experienced and their results are consistently top notch.

Our main level floor reno was extensive, Ron, his son and team spliced in flooring to match a new kitchen floor to the old floor in the main living area. Despite hiccups with other trades, Acorn Wood Floors spend endless extra hours to make sure the job was complete and the entire main floor refinished, in the time frame required. They were exceptionally friendly, approachable and able to 'go with the flow' when required. We would highly recommend Ron and his team for your hardwood flooring needs, they will exceed your expectations!

Ron and Alex did a superb job form start to finish having to remove old carpet, move around some heavy furniture and rebuild some stairs before installing the new hardwood floor. My wife and I could not be more pleased. As an added bonus they are extremely friendly and considerate.
