Accord Roofing

This is my second home and the second time I have used Accord. I was so impressed with the price and quality of work the first job (flat roof) I knew who to call when I needed to replace the shingles on my current home. Ricardo and his team showed up on time, fully equipped and ready to work. By the end of the day I had a beautiful new roof. They were very polite while on the job and left the property clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Accord roofing to anyone looking for roof work that won't break the bank!

Went through the joys of getting 6 roofing quotes. The quotes ranged in price from $4600 to $12,000. All the quotes promised the same workmanship. We decided to go with Accord, as they were reasonable and they were familar with our street. The Accord team did a great job. An was error made in the colour choice of flashing BUT Accord was quick to respond, replacing all of the new flashing with the right colour flashing.

I found Accord roofing using this site. Ricardo from Accord is a hard working and nice guy who went above my expectations at a very reasonable price. Job was done well, timely and he even did some additional tuck-pointing.

Ricardo and his team did a good job of removing the old roof and installing a new flat roof on my dad's commercial building in downtown Chinatown this past spring ('07). A previous roofing contractor had charged my dad a lot of money to fix the leaking roof. It had stopped leaking for a while but after a few weeks the roof leaked again like crazy and the contractor never returned our numerous calls to rectify the problem. We then called a lot of roofing companies but found that many of them were too busy to even come out to look at my dad's roof. We did manage to get a couple of quotes but they were also too busy to do the job any time soon. Ricardo of Accord Roofing was prompt in returning our call and right away made an appointment to inspect my dad's roof. Ricardo showed up when he said he would and we were impressed by his manner and roofing knowledge and his quote was about the same amount as the other quotes. We decided to hire him and Ricardo and his crew got the job done within the following two weeks. They showed up when they said they would and were efficient in getting the job done and in cleaning up the job site after they were finished. The roof looks great and has not leaked since.

Unfortunately since I wrote the former, the roof has now developed a couple of leaks, the first in November 2007 and the second the first week of January, 2008. I have tried getting in touch with Accord roofing but the number is disconnected. I know the company is being managed now by a person named William (Bill) and when I spoke with him in the fall when the roof was fine, he said that he would honor the warranty on the job Ricardo did. But now that I am having problems I cannot get hold of anyone from Accord roofing.

It is now months later and I found out that Ricardo was apparently away for the past few months but is now back in business again. I was relieved when he did contact me to discuss his absence and the problems with my dad's leaking roof. He has been out to the property a couple of times now to try and figure out why the roof is leaking. Talking to him again reminded me of why I hired him in the first place. He is an affable guy and seems very sincere about his work. I am happy to say that Ricardo is standing behind his work and is now trying his best to rectify the problem with the leaks. If things work out I may even have him replace the roof of my house as it will need replacing in the near future.

I don't usually post something like this, however, I am frustrated and have not had a response from Accord roofing.

Ricardo did a great job on a membrane under a deck for me done in July. I have no complaints about that work. However, their follow up has been terrible. Since July, it has started to buckle in a place. It probably just needs some sealant. NOT a big job.

Apparently, I have a warranty for the work. I have put 6 calls into Ricardo and at times I have spoken with him at others I have left messages. I have not had one call returned. I have had to continute to call. I have spoken with them to come by. Not once have they called to say when they are coming. It has now been over a month since my first call. It is now September, and water is getting underneath the area that is buckled. Where are they????

I'm sure they are busy, but I would like a response!

I am truly disappointed in this service. He was so great to work with initially and did good work, however, this follow-up is unfortunate. When will my roof be looked at?

(I have also referred him to my neighbour who weeks later is still waiting for a visit! They keep saying they are coming -and she hasn't heard from them!)

After interviewing the top 10 roofing companies, we decided to use Accord for my roof project. We were experiencing serious ice damning issues every winter which ultimately lead to leaks and mold issues which we needed to address right away as we have a new born.

When they open up the roof boards for inspection they found infestation of mold, inadequate insulation and ventillation.They were more concerned about our safety and health, then about covering up and getting paid. Ricardo and Bill clearly explained what we needed to do and what was the areas that needed attention.

They replaced all insulation with R30, sprayed the entire roof with mold removing agents, replaced the damaged roof boards, installed baffles and replaced all vents.

They agreed for us to pay for the added expenses at their cost and a very reasonable amount to cover their time - Thank God!

I have used other roofer perviously do do work for me on various project but I would say Accord Roofing is by far the best that I have used to date. Ricardo was very professional, provided a very good package that suited my buget, provided quality workmanship in a timely fashion and most of all the roof looks beautiful. I will definately will be using that company services again in the future.

Called Ricardo at Accord regarding my leaking deck and roof over the front porch. He called me back right away and came over to do an estimate. Ricardo and his team were amazing! Very personable and approachable. Not only were they able to do a GREAT job on removing and reassembling my deck, but they put a high-quality membrane on the roof. They also fixed some shingles on my roof, and seal and repair some minor leaks - all at a VERY reasonable rate. I've already recommended Ricardo to a number of people and wouldn't hesitate to use him or his team again. He provided a level of service you don't usually see in the business.

We had a leak near the furnace in the basement for a while, and decided it was time to do something about it. We assumed that it was coming from the roof and were starting to get concerned that it could become more of a problem if we didn't get it repaired. I called Ricardo at Accord Roofing and he was able to come over a couple of days later (on a Saturday) and was going to take a look. Well, long story short, Ricardo was on the roof and had fixed it within the hour, and at a very reasonable price, I might add! We had to wait until we had a fairly heavy storm, as that was the only time that it leaked, to see if it had worked,and we got one of those yesterday, and no problem at all! We are so happy that we called Ricardo, and will most definitely use him again, and would also recommend him to friends. Thanks Ricardo!

I had a lot of work done at my place. This was not an easy job, since it was in the middle of Kensington market, and getting in and out is very difficult. All of the shingles, some original slate, needed to be torn off of our three story building and then replaced.

I also had two flat roofs repaired underneath existing decking. Ricardo and his crew did a great job. They were professional and now my roof looks great, and no longer leaks. I was worried about my decks not being put back together properly, but now they look better than they did before they were disassembled.

Ricardo and his crew also stained my deck and scraped and painted the outside of my building (no small feat on a three story building in a busy market).

In addition to this, Ricardo fixed the leaks in our basement, where he tore up the floor, had a plumber install a new pipe and then layed new concrete flooring over top.

I can’t say enough good things about this guy. Ricardo is an honest and hard working contractor (which is rare in the world of contractors out there!). He's smart, personable, reasonably organized, and charges fair market prices not too high, but too low either. I'd definitely work with him again.
