He quickly examined the situation and identified the issues causing the leak. He clearly knows what he is doing. He offered a range of potential solutions at various (very reasonable) price points. But the amazing thing was when he decided to do a spot repair to see if that would do the job (along with some other recommended actions on our part). And he did it all at no charge!! Rarely do you find that combination of such incredible honesty and expertise these days. My dryer vent became disconnected and when I tried to re-attach it, I only made it worse as pieces fell apart from the ceiling. We had no dryer in a house full of laundry. But then Dr Vent to the rescue. He came the same day I called and quickly put back all the pieces and secured it all better than ever, all for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend him for any dryer vent issues.

Because of all the excellent reviews on Homestars, I opted to go with Potlight Experts, and I'm thrilled that we did. They came exactly as scheduled, worked cleanly and efficiently, and did it all within their very reasonable quote. We had new led potlights put into two rooms, new led under cabinet lighting installed in kitchen, a few fixtures changed, dimmer and timer switches installed, and even an exterior potlight added for minimal cost. The team completed the work in very quick order and everything looks absolutely amazing. Guests rave about the lighting.

After a local handyman made a mess of our existing faucet trying to fix a leak, we were desperate. Nick came to the rescue quickly, expertly and at a very reasonable price. He arrived exactly as scheduled, quickly went to work and completely redid the entire plumbing in our laundry room in less than an hour. Nick was very easy to talk with and offered excellent professional advice on another plumbing issue. His very reasonable quote was exactly on the mark. Next time we have any plumbing issues, Van Horne plumbing will be the first ones we will turn to.

It is very difficult to find companies that will replace aluminum siding with aluminum. Most want to replace it with vinyl which is cheaper and easier to work with. After getting a number of estimates, I found Jimmy of GTA Siding to offer the best price for the full job. He has a tube van with all the equipment needed to form the aluminum to size. Although his company is new, Jimmy has been in the business for many years and I got excellent references for him from previous clients. He did an excellent job of removing the old siding, installing new insulation, new aluminum siding, replacing our troughs, covering them all with leaf guards, and replacing all the soffits and fascia. He capped all the windows very cleanly. He even did some extras for no extra charge: capped our garage door frame, painted our bay window awning to match, etc.

I'm a very careful consumer and had many many companies come to quote on my job. It is a fairly simple roof replacement, but there was a great range in quotes and materials suggested. Nick of Nu Edge wasn't the absolute lowest, but was pretty close, and he uses higher grade materials. I was impressed by previous reviews and the references I checked. He also managed to move my job up a couple weeks when we noticed a leak, even in the busy summer season. All in all, excellent work, fast, and cleaned up very nicely. For the price, you will not find better value. I've already recommended to a number of friends.

i'm updating this 3 year old review (see below) due to a recent experience with AH that was not quite as good. On the positive side, Bill is still reasonably available and he knows Samsung fridges well. He does the repairs efficiently and his hourly rates are fair. However, I was a bit disappointed this time that he charged for more time than he actually spent on the job and did not acknowledge that fact when I questioned him. Also, some parts you are better off buying yourself. Still, would certainly use him again but will be a bit more clear up front. Original review in 2015: i called many appliance repair companies to try and fix relatively minor problem with our french door Samsung fridge. But even after explaining the problem, none of them could provide any idea of what it would cost to fix, only telling me their charge for an estimate. I finally reached Bill of AH Appliance and he was the only one who right away could tell me the exact cause and cost. He not only fixed the problem at the cost quoted, but also did another repair on the fridge included in the same price! Excellent and professional.

Paul started out all friendly and professional, but as time went on he became belligerent and nasty, and pressured for more money. His workmanship deteriorated similarly as he would leave gaping holes, put in boards without nailing, leave deep scratch marks on new boards, put in nosing that would not meet even minimal code, . and just generally left terrible, mismatched flooring. Finally, after insisting on full payment, he left huge amounts of the project unfinished and disappeared, never answering calls or emails. We had to pay someone else to come in and spend hours fixing up the mess he left. Avoid Presidential Hardwood and Paul.

Steve will give the house the most thorough inspection and discover potential problems for the purchaser. He provides a detailed list of these along with estimated costs for repairs. As others have said, real estate agents and sellers hate this. But, it saved us a lot of money and grief by knowing ahead of time exactly what we were getting into. The seller had to make some necessary repairs prior to closing. Highly recommended.

Water was pouring over our roof and we thought the entire eavestroughs had to be replaced. Got a few quotes from others, and they were quite pricey. Rick told us it was just clogged up and cleaned it out at no charge. He did find some missing shingles elsewhere which he replaced and repaired other spots and installed a leaf guard all for a price that was substantially lower than six other quotes we got. Rick even did the work while we were away without taking a deposit, and only collected for it afterwards.

Price was great, but they took over 3 months to finally install windows after promising it in 2 weeks. Had to chase them for weeks. They mismeasured and had to re-order. Didn't even answer phones for a couple weeks. Never returned calls despite repeated promises. Excuses, excuses. However, when they finally did finish the job a few months later...it was nicely done.
