Kamel Hassan's furniture is located on the same street as my husband's old college. When we returned to the area, we chose the store because he'd driven past it 1,000 times but had never gone in. We went in and to our surprise found a full-service furniture store with excellent selections. We ordered a couch and the service person helped us to find pillows that matched, and special ordered.
I've had two watercolor paintings and one pastel framed at the Culley Street Frame shop and love her service, selection, and the pricing. All of the paintings were matted and finished beautifully, and my frames receive as many compliments as the paintings themselves.
My computer died, and I needed one desperately for work (I telecommute). College Pro Computers set me up with a decent, older laptop within a day. I had some problems with logins and had a delay in getting phone help, but otherwise College Pro Computers was helpful. Their rates were reasonable and in an emergency I'd rent from them again.
I went to Atkins Farms to buy groceries and to get plantings for our vegetable garden. The selection was excellent, and the clerk working outside was able to explain the difference between many of the different breeds of tomato. The prices were reasonable. Very helpful!
Finishing work on new laminate floor
While it took more than 10 minutes to find some help, once I had a sales clerk who could explain wood putties and finishing work, Aubuchon Hardware turned out to be the right store for my supplies. The clerk was extremely helpful in explaining how wood putty works, which colors to choose, etc.
When I went to Rocky's Ace Hardware in Hadley to get some supplies to redo the caulking for my bathtub, I wasn't sure which kind of caulk to use. The only salesperson available seemed unsure of the best mold-resistant caulk, and told me there was no one else around who could help give me advice. I ended up buying the right caulk, and she was friendly and efficient at the cash register, but more assistance would have helped.
We purchased our bench freezer from Manny's, had it delivered, and were very impressed with the sales persons and delivery people. We went back to buy a new washer and dryer about 6 months later, and once again we received great service. The salesperson explained how to get energy rebates on the washer and dryer, the delivery people assembled the stackable washer and dryer, and I would highly recommend this company.
I went to Cowls to purchase two pieces of lumber for a garden frame. They offered on the spot sawing service to make the lumber the perfect size for my project. The clerks were helpful and courteous.
