Beautiful original art without breaking the bank! We bought a modern painting from Kubatica Studio (http://www.kubatica.com) - the artist (Jacob) does great abstract pieces. His work is large-scale, deeply textured and bold - and can really anchor a large wall. We liked a painting series he had done in the past and he was willing to re-create the specific one we wanted. This piece is big - 60" x 30''. The process was easy, fast, and he bills through paypal. He is honest, timely, and reliable. There was a $40 charge for UPS shipping to our door - and the painting arrived in perfect shape. It arrives gallery-wrapped so the sides are painted black, and there are hanging wires already installed to hang it 'raw' if you like that look as we do. (Very thoughtful! And no costs for framing) Why pay for a print or mass-produced art, when you can have a hand-painted original oil from an artist for a reasonable price? There was no follow-up or after-sale service - which is unfortunate. If he did this better, I'm sure he'd have more multiple-purchase clients and great word-of-mouth. However, the quality of the painting is excellent - and we're really glad we took a chance and went this route! The compliments are rolling in - art always elevates a room.

Here's why we hired Jacky and C Plus Roofing: they are BBB accredited, have bonding, insurance and WSIB (so any accidents don't come to my insurance), best price when I compared exactly what was to be done, they've been in business for 10 years so they are not fly-by-night like the company operating in our neighbourhood (so the 10-year labour warranty actually means something by next year), Jacky answered any and all questions and did some modifications to the job to suit us. We hired him to do a roof repair before - and he was quick, efficient and very fair priced - so we knew we'd have great, responsive customer service going forward. The clean up was perfect on 3/4 sides of the house - the guys got careless on the last one. The crew were experienced and very hard working - our plants and hardscaping were all protected. Jacky was on-site for 1/2 the day to supervise and check the job. They also work with the Canada Go Green solar vent fans - which we wanted. Do your homework - about shingle colours vs heat differentials in the attic, how many vents you need (tip - you can check google earth to see how many you have now), what vents are noisy - and also ask Jacky as he's very honest (he's also always on time and polite). They did an excellent job - it's not only how it looks but how it performs and endures. Just recommended them to our neighbour - so we're writing this as well. Be very clear about what you want - so there are no miscommunications. 9.5 Star from this picky homeowner. We would offer a reference without reservation. PS It's a brutal job up there - be kind and offer the crew cold drinks in the heat.

I was another of the many victims of the recent windstorm. I came home from a trip to find 1/2 dozen shingles scattered across my property. Unlike several roofers I called whose phone message mailboxes were full, Jacky answered the call himself and took the time to discuss the situation with me immediately. He agreed to come and make the repair within 2 days and arrived on time which is always appreciated. Jacky explained the repair, expected costs what they were planning to do. They then went straight to work on the roof and were done within an hour with no mess and no hassle. C-Plus was both fast and professional. Jacky was knowledgeable and very willing to patiently answer all my questions. I have no hesitation in recommending C-Plus and using their services again.

After one of the frequent power surges and outages we have in Pickering, my wife's computer would simply not power up. I had found Compu-Medics online and had seen the shop several times driving bye so I decided to take the PC there. The young man I spoke to was very helpful and listened patiently while I explained what I believed had occurred and what I had done to try to resolve the issue myself. I got a call back the next day to let me know that the problem had been a damaged power supply and that it was ready to be picked up that day. CM was extremely quick, very helpful and reasonably priced. I would definitely not hesitate to go back to them with any computer issues I'm having.

The powder room fan and the light fixture in the adjacent room were not working. I was very worried that this was not something small. I called 3 Homestars listings to discuss what I needed and for quotes. One 'superhero' sounding company demanded my name, address, phone info upfront before they would even talk to me - they lost me at hello. I hired Green Planet Electric for the job and was nervous about the costs - but they offer a flat-fee diagnostic (approx $75) and then the hourly fee for the fix. Mark from Green Planet Electric is a licensed master electrician and was patient, courteous, professional and approachable on the phone - excellent and what I look for in hiring. He scheduled an appointment 2 days after my call and showed up exactly on time. He walked us through what was happening, was incredibly knowledgeable and yet explained things so the homeowner understands. The problems are taken care of and I even have a new timer on my bathroom fan. Excellent service and quality for an affordable price! We'll be using his services again! Guaranteed.

AA was excellent. I had 6 different sales called scheduled and D'Arcy impressed me as much as anyone else in the group. He was patient and professional in his meeting with me. Also was very quick to reply by phone or email after the initial call when I had some questions and to book the appointment. The crew that arrived were on time, respectful fastidious. Time will tell if the York equipment will stand the test of time, but we could definitely feel the difference in the house with the new furnace.
