We hired The Deck Guys to remove our existing chain link fence and replace with a new one. There were some issues along the way, but ultimately they made sure we were completely satisfied. Some people from the team really went above and beyond.
Pre-sale: The salesperson, Arthur was patient with our many revisions and provided us with multiple quotes until we finalized our design. Some of the wording in the proposal was a bit vague, this resulted in some issues around the number of posts. This issue was resolved with a few phone calls and no extra costs.
Demolition: After booking, demolition occurred months later. In fairness, COVID caused serious staff and material shortages, this was out of their control and they were pretty good about communicating updates and delays. Demolition was quick and the old material was removed quickly.
Post hole digging and post installation: As mentioned, this is where the first issue occurred, but was resolved and the posts went in and the workers were great.
Main-Fence Installation: The guys came to install the main part of the fence without the lattice (to be done later). They arrived and were great about working with us to figure out the spacing of the boards we wanted. This was all in the proposal and there was no issues here.
Lattice Installation: This installation occurred quite a while after the main fence, this was entirely due to COVID-19 material shortages and we wanted a special lattice pattern. They had an employee go WAY above and beyond and was able to track down this material in Muskoka. We were impressed with this as most contractors would not do this.
When the lattice was installed, a different employee arrived, there were a few quality issues, but Steve King, the lead carpenter took ownership of the defects and ensured the work was redone until we were satisfied.
