We are very happy with the work Kyle, Lorne and Brandon at 2x2 did for our bathroom. We had a very old and decrepit bathroom that was in desperate need of a reno. Being our only bathroom in the house we had a need for a definite timeline for finishing. 2x2 promptly came out for a visual inspection, listened to our wishes and needs and gave us a quote a timeline we were very happy with. They started on time and had us back in our home on schedule... some unforeseen circumstances caused a slight delay in finishing but that is to be expected with a 100 year gone and 2x2 dealt with each new “surprise” quickly and efficiently. Our bathroom went from a dark, dated room that never looked clean to a bright and beautiful room, with modern fixtures and conveniences (and storage courtesy of the custom tile top cabinet and shelves) 2x2 commitment to quality and timelines was top notch and took away a lot of the anxiety associated of hiring a contractor in Toronto these days. From start to finish they were dedicated to our project and delivered on their promises. Thanks guys... we love the new bathroom!

Needed to replace my main shut off valve. Mr. Rooter was terrific at clearing a window of time for a technician to come out because the city shut off time window is within 4 hours... Once the city came out and turned off supply feed, I was able to call Mr. Rooter and they had someone out within the hour. Technician was friendly, fast and did a nice job... no problems. My only hesitation for 5 stars is that my invoice is very vague, no labour/parts breakdown just one "replace water shut off valve" and I notice that others in the Mr. Rooter reviews have had the same job completed at a lower price.

We had pulled all the carpeting up from the house as well as part of the rear deck and needed it gone. I phoned We-Haul in the morning and 40 minutes later George arrived at my door... assessed what I had, we agreed on the load size/price and then he proceeded to load everything up quickly and thoroughly. A great experience overall, very happy. I have used others before and this was the first time with We-Haul... I will be using them again in the future.

I had an old Lennox Pulse furnace that came with the house that was constantly needing service each winter, and parts were getting harder to find and taking longer to order so I decided to have it replaced. The guys from Metropolitan replaced my 22 year old furnace with a new hi-efficiency and noticeably smaller and quieter unit. They were fast, well mannered and explained what they were doing. They even carried the giant beast that was the old furnace out of the basement and arranged for someone to pick it up (within the hour) now we have heat without worrying if the furnace will conk out when it gets cold. The new furnace is s great upgrade from our old one, smaller, quieter and more efficient... With a warranty. The guys did a fantastic job and installed it in about 5 hours and left the area clean and tidy.

I went with Duct Cleaning a Specialists based on their Homestars rating and I had no experience or prior duct cleaning. Setting the appointment was easy and once the day was set I was given a 3 hour window to expect the crew which was helpful planning my day. Adrian and Nick showed up right on time and very courteous. They explained as they proceeded... Did their job quickly and efficiently, explained the process and products used and gave me advice on maintenance and furnace care. They then cleaned up and went on their way. Very satisfied with the service.

We had a deteriorating set of stairs leading up to our house that finally had enough after last winter and decided to have them replaced rather than patched. We got in touch with Ted because our neighbours were having their stairs and front completely relandscaped and quouted for both for a possible discount. Our neighbours went with another company for their needs but we went with Ted and his crew. After a few missed starts due to scheduling Ted's crew arrived and removed the old stairs which were poured cement... we decided to go with slab stairs instead this time and we are very happy. Hobson landscapes worked fast, were courteous and came in right on quote. We look forward to many years of use on our new stairs instead of the embarassment of the chipping, pitted old ones. We had 16 stairs and a top landing replaced.

I had some miscellaneous junk and wood piled after cleaning up getting ready for winter... Not a huge lot but since we don't have a car we needed it gone. We-Haul had a low minimum and actually did not try to argue about the size or price... They showed up on time, were polite and worked quickly, no hassle... More than happy

I had sagging and leaking eaves and downspouts and was looking for full replacement. Serge came out promptly for an estimate and went over what he would do as well as explained the product he was going to use. With a few estimates in hand I went with Serge and All County... some of the others did not even come out in person just over the internet quote. Serge was booked and I was prepared to wait but a few days later he had some time and came out and spent the entire day removing the old (which he also carted away) and put up the new... now all my eaves run smoothly and exit away from the house. I would definitely recommend All County for their work and they cleaned up when finished... actually cleaner than when they started. Highly recommended. ps - I am writing this during the second rain since install... Serge said to give it a few rains to make sure everything was flowing right and there were no leaks in joints (if so he would come out and fix)

I called New Canadian initially for a second opinion. Steve arrived on time and walked me through what he was doing. He came to the same conclusion as my first estimate and was competitive so I decided to go with New Canadian. They were scheduled to start at 9, I received a call at 10:30 saying they would be there at 11:30. At 3:30 I received a call saying that they were not going to make it and they would have to do it the next day. Fine enough... the next day arrived and work went started... New Canadian and the other estimate differed in where they were going to dig... New Canadian was going to go from the top of my stairs and dig down where as the other company was going to dig from the drive. Everything was going well until I was told they could not get to the rest of the blockage from the steps and they were going to have to dig a second hole in the drive (as per the original estimate) AND that is was going to cost me double the cost because now it was two holes... which they told me as I had a hole in my front steps and no water drainage... basically over a barrel. While working I had to step out so I asked the guys working if they would be finished that day... at this point a man who I never met who was not working on the job turned to me and bluntly said "you will get what they told you" turned back around and offered up nothing else. Well I was just asking a question, I am the customer and this guy who I guess is the boss basically told me to mind my own business. The work itself is very satisfactory, the guys were nice aside from whoever the boss was, I am upset that the job cost doubled when the other company would have done it differently and probably got the job done for half the cost. I'm glad my drain works and hopefully I won't have to call anybody in about this again. In response to below: my rating is not low... it is not a stellar score, but I am not trashing either, I am in the middle in each category... I stated I am satisfied with the work, my score says I am satisfied, just not over the moon satisfied... what do you want? I was charged over double of my initial quote, my quote says 12 feet of pipe replaced and I see you now replaced 6 feet... not 12 as you said in the increased invoice. Please learn that a average score is not a trashing score, it just means I wasn't blown away by the service... I think that is fair to anyone who was given a quote for $2600 and then told it will cost $5800 mid job... would you be thrilled if your mechanic said it will cost $1000 but while your car is on the lift he says nope... $2000... of course not...

I had a basement drain that backed up. Matt arrived shortly after calling and did an inspection and snaking. He was very clear about the process and explained everything as well of the cost before proceeding. After his inspection he provided me with a clear explanation and estimate for the further work needed and encouraged me to seek other opinions and estimates as well, no pressure or hard sell which was appreciated. I would recommend Drain Works for anyone seeking drain works.

I took my prints to Al and Dwight at Bi-Plane for framing. They did a great job with the custom framing, and explained the archival framing process and how and why it is important... thanks guys...

I had originally booked for a pickup the day before, but weather and truck problems prevented the appointment, but I was given a choice of times the next day. After that, I was a little leary, but Stewart and Cearan showed up in uniform were prompt and courteous, they gave me a quick estimate which we agreed on and went to work. They were fast, efficient and cleaned up very well afterwards. I was pleasantly surprised as this was the first time I have used this service. I would recommend 1-800-Rid-Of-It to anyone looking for junk removal. Aside from the glitch in timing, I was not in any time crunch... everything was great.

I had a huge (over 5' trunk diameter) dying silver maple in my backyard that had already had a limb crash through my roof and was threatening several yards and houses. Several companies showed up and walked away saying they would not touch the job, it was too big but Aaron and his team showed up the day after I called and gave me a very competitive estimate and started the next day. The tree was taken down in 2 days and all traces of them being there were gone. A stellar job and a stellar cleanup. I could not be happier with their work and Aaron explaining each and every step of the process. Their knowledge and speed in completing the job was impressive, even some of the neighbours sat in their yards all day watching the team work because it was interesting to see some pros doing their job.
