BartDom Construction was hired to complete the tile work in our new home. This was a very large job - tile work was completed in the laundry room, 5 bathrooms, the kitchen floor and back splash, and at the main and side entrances of the house. Bart and his crew did an absolutely phenomenal job along every step of the way, from preparation of the floor with the Schluter underlayment to the actual laying and leveling of the tiles. Every piece of tile was placed methodically, with incredible care and precision. Bart's crew communicated effectively with us. They asked lots of questions (e.g., if we wanted a brick, stacked, or herring bone pattern and if the tiles should be placed horizontally or vertically), and if we weren't sure of the answer, they went to great lengths to help us reach a decision (e.g., they prepared sample layouts for us). Not only are Bart and his crew excellent tilers and communicators, they are very pleasant to work with, reliable, and extremely hard-working (on top of working all week, they worked several Saturdays to ensure key deadlines were met). I just can't say enough good things about BartDom Construction. We are so incredibly happy with the workmanship and have already recommended BartDom Construction to our friends who are renovating their bathrooms.

Our contractor recommended Acores Roofing for our home. Sam from Acores was just phenomenal. He took his time explaining the products he uses, and it was obvious that he truly stands by both the materials he uses and the workmanship. We went with black Certainteed Landmark shingles - just gorgeous! Sam also installed a bubble skylight and did a truly phenomenal job. And we found the pricing to be really reasonable. If you want quality roofing and excellent workmanship at a reasonable price, then I highly recommend Acores Roofing. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I went to Keramin because we needed to pick tiles for several rooms in our new home, including 5 washrooms, our front entrance, a laundry room, and our kitchen. We chose Keramin because the store happened to be open on Sundays, and very few tile stores are open Sundays. We had spent the entire day Saturday at other tile stores trying to find tiles, but with no success. So, needless to say, we were feeling pretty overwhelmed when we walked into Keramin. Fortunately, we immediately fell in love with a mosaic, so we picked it up and walked around the store, trying to match it to something. It was at that moment that Eddy approached us and asked if we needed any help. We told him we were building a new home and needed tiles for several rooms. He asked us about the rooms, if we had selected washroom and plumbing fixtures for the bathrooms, cabinets for the kitchen, etc. and if we had any pictures of these. Well...with Eddy's help and within 2 hours, we had tiles selected for 90% of our house. Eddy was PHENOMENAL in helping us match floor and wall tiles, and even went so far as to give us advice on paint colours. This exceptional customer service also goes for the delivery. Keramin never charged us for deliveries, and several trips were made, including for small orders that were made after-the-fact for additional tiles that were needed because we ran out. We are absolutely astounded at how everything came together - simply beautiful! Keramin (and especially you, Eddy), we can't thank you enough for your help! We don't know how we would have selected tiles without your guidance and suggestions. If you want beautiful, high-quality tiles at very reasonable prices, and could use some help in putting different pieces together, then definitely check out Keramin! You will be so glad you did!

Our contractor recommended VinylGuard Window & Door Systems to take care of all of the windows and doors in our new home. When we first visited the showroom in Woodbridge, we were really impressed with the quality of the products and their beauty. The products were truly breathtaking! The fact that the windows came with a Lifetime Warranty, were made in Canada, and were Energy Star Compliant, CSA certified, and Window Wise Accredited made VinylGuard an easy choice for us. JR provided excellent customer service. He very patiently listened to our plans for the outside of the home and provided us with some really excellent suggestions for the windows and doors. We are so impressed with the quality of the products. The VinylGuard products are a perfect combination of beauty and functionality - we couldn’t be happier with our windows and doors and highly recommend VinylGuard for anyone looking for new or replacement windows and doors!

We hired Closets by Design to design and install some custom cabinetry and shelving in a kitchen pantry and two walk-in closets. Brenda, who assisted us with the design of the spaces, was so incredible! She asked us all sorts of questions about our preferences (like whether we liked to fold our clothes or hang them) and the types of clothing and accessories we typically wore and helped us in designing walk-in closets that were just perfect. Brenda took measurements twice to ensure all the pieces were cut just right. Ditto for the pantry. Brenda did an excellent job in designing the shelving and cabinetry in that room as well. Guy, who was sent to install the shelving and cabinetry, was fantastic. He was super courteous! All the pieces were cut outside so as to minimize the dust in the house, and Guy cleaned up after himself when he was done. The end result is just so beautiful! Just amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. We are so glad we went with Closets by Design and highly recommend them. They can turn any space into a beautiful, well-organized storage area!

My husband found Platinum Stairs on HomeStars. Al (the owner) was definitely well-priced - by the time we received a quote from Al, we had already received 2 other quotes. Al was several thousand dollars less expensive. So, Al gets high grades for price. Ditto for the quality of the stairs. Definitely great workmanship on the stairs, but the wood railings were riddled with humps and they had to be excessively sanded after they were installed (which Al took care of). Al went to great lengths to protect the stairs after they were installed, as there was so much other work going on at the house by other trades, so he gets recognition for that. Where it all falls apart is RELIABILITY (OR LACK THEREOF). Al rarely showed up when he said he would, and when he did show up, he was always late. To make matters worse, Al never called to let us know that he wasn't coming or that he was going to be late. We finally reasoned that at some point, Al would want to be paid his remaining balance and that he would eventually show up, so we just stopped chasing him and waited for him to call us, and eventually, he did. So, if you want high-quality stairs (and medium quality wood railings) at a really competitive price, and you are not in a big hurry, then Platinum Stairs is a great company to work with. If your project is time-sensitive (as ours was), then be forewarned...you will not have your stairs and railings installed on the promised dates!!!

Hi Kathy,

Thank you for your review. Your feedback is very important to us, as we continue our efforts to ensure we offer the best service and quality work to our customers. Great to hear you were happy with the workmanship of our stairs. As for the handrail, yes we always do sand the handrail after installation to make sure handrail is nice, smooth and ready for stain. In regards to reliability, respectfully, we have to disagree that we caused any delays in your project. First of all, your stairs were manufactured within the agreed-upon timeframe, when we informed you that they were assembled and ready for installation, you said your home was not ready for the stairs to be installed and so we had to place them in the storage for 2 months. Second, the day we went to install the railing (in response to your request), your contractor told us that we could not install it, as the floor was not installed yet. Thereafter we tried to arrange attendances at your home, on a number of occasions, to install a bracket and finish off the last few aspects of the job. However, we were repeatedly told that the timing was not convenient for you and your husband. That was not an issue, as we always strive to accommodate our clients' schedules, and we did eventually obtain access to the property so that we could finish off the job. However, we do want to set the record straight on this point as our clients' satisfaction is very important to us.
