Oh, that all service calls were that easy and efficient: a perfect 10. I called on Tuesday, Peter got the part I needed ($250) and managed to fit in the repair on Thursday before he left for vacation. Modern Appliances is now my go-to company if any of my other appliances need servicing or repair.

I had to move 2 armchairs and a dozen boxes of files within the GTA. Try to find a mover to do that small a move and right before Christmas! Well I found Cargo Cabbie through Homestars and the whole experience was totally painless. It was over in one hour, the office staff were friendly and helpful and the movers were careful and quick. I would recommend Cargo Cabbie wholeheartedly.

I contacted Sobol on my neighbours recommendation to have windows replaced throughout my townhouse. As soon as contacted, Archie came over a few days later, was helpful in recommending best options, not necessarily most expensive options. Installation took place in January, during the polar vortex! In spite of the weather, it proceeded without delay. Was surprisingly painless. The team was efficient, courteous and friendly, cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day, and got the job done within the 3 days they were scheduled for. All in all, a very good experience. I would recommend Sobol to anyone looking for windows or doors.

We hired East End to redo three flat roofs on townhouses in our condo project. They performed this work in June 2006 in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. However, we realized right away that the water was not draining from any of the roofs. Even after days of 30oC+ weather, there was still significant standing water on all the roofs. Throughout the summer, we chased them to come and fix the problem. They would set a date, then not show up. We kept chasing. In May 2007, they did show up long enough to lift and dismantle the decks, looked at the water problem, said they knew what they had to do and never came back. We're out the money and we'll probably have to have someone else redo their shoddy work. To my mind, East End have proven themselves to be incompetent and unreliable.
