In anticipation of the installation of an inside backwater valve, La advised me on how to prepare the basement for the dig. La and Cole worked hard, digging down deep, and they did an excellent job cleaning up. La also took the time to assess my drainage system and to wrap some pipe on an outside wall. It is the care taken with these small details that really make a difference. Thanks La and Cole; I really appreciate your work!

I completely rebuilt my crumbling front steps, and I just needed wrought-iron railings to complete the project and ensure my visitors' safety. With Art Metal Workshop's help, I designed a railing for my new concrete porch. Once installed, I was pleased with the finished look and the high quality of the work. Bruce Poole did a fantastic job plastering and painting my home’s halls and second floor bedrooms. The hallways had stucco walls which I wanted smoothed out and the bedroom walls were badly in need of repair. Bruce meticulously plastered and sanded the stucco walls to build up multiple layers of plaster over the ancient bumpy walls. As you can imagine, the plaster dust was flying, but Bruce had several dust control strategies, including a site clean-up at the end of each day. The result? Smooth, newly plastered and painted walls that bring my old 1929 house into the twenty-first century. Bruce’s careful prep work and painting have resulted in a wonderful fresh new look. Bruce’s professionalism, plastering and painting talents, and strong work ethic makes him the painter to hire. And on top of that, he is an all-round great guy you feel comfortable having in your home.

Hoerner Heating & Plumbing did an excellent job of replacing an old toilet with a new one which they supplied. La, the technician, notified me that he was on his way and arrived exactly when he said he would. The technician worked neatly, which is impressive as it was a dirty job. I particularly liked that he took the old toilet away. After the job was finished, La explained the best way to handle the shut off valve and made himself available for any additional plumbing questions that I might have. I appreciated the time and interest he showed regarding my questions about the state of my home's plumbing!

Jonathan C. came within the maintenance window and very kindly quickly reviewed the use of a new radiator, installed by Belyea at an earlier date. He then moved on to the task at hand, and gave me a complete report (all good!) at the end of his work. I recommend Belyea Bros. for trusted service.

Picking exterior paint colours is not an easy task, and I have made mistakes in the past with these difficult decisions. So for the first time, I called upon an expert. Andrea came to my rescue on short notice and made a recommendation of three colours for various parts of the exterior: trim, deck, and the overhang at the front of the house. Since following her advice, I have received a number of compliments on how good the paint colours look. I felt comfortable working with Andrea, and I am looking forward to hiring her again.

My living room plaster ceiling in my old twenties home needed some serious repairs after rainwater had seeped in between the first and second floors. Furthermore, in some places the plaster walls sagged. Another contractor had told me that the only way to repair the damage was to remove all of the plaster and replace with drywall. No thanks, I wanted a plasterer! When Kevin came to give me an estimate, he immediately saw that the plaster could be repaired, and he suggested improving the overall look of my living room and dining room by smoothing out the various textures that had been applied to the ceilings over the years. After the plastering repairs, Kevin’s crew then meticulously painted the LR and DR, trim and radiators for a perfect finish. Kevin kept me in the loop as the work progressed, and the workmen kept the worksite as clean as possible when doing such dusty work.
