I found Magenta Lawn & Property Maintenance on Homestars and contacted them in early August 2020 about doing a one-time yard clean-up of my father's property that was overgrown with weeds and needing the grass cut as we wanted to get the home on the market to sell. As it was a busy time of year I was not sure if I would be able to find a reputable company to complete the work within a short period of time. Magenta provided a written quote based on the photos that I had provided to them and was able to fit the work in within a week. They did a fabulous job cleaning up the yard and removing all the overgrown weeds . They cut the grass as well. They did recommend putting down mulch in the bare areas of the yard and garden but we decided against it due to our tight budget. However it was an option that would have finished off the yard beautifully and prevented the weeds from growing back. Although it was a little difficult to reach the company in person, the end result was worth it and I would highly recommend them.

I contacted Markham Garage Doors in mid-July 2020 as I wanted to replace the original garage door on my father's 1962 house in order to get the house on the market for sale as quickly as possible. I was contacted within a few hours by Louis Kwok, a salesperson with the company, who visited the house and provided a written quote for me the SAME DAY along with some colour samples to choose from. Louis indicated that it usually takes 3 weeks for a garage door to be delivered but said he would try to rush the order. I was pleasantly surprised when the door arrived in 2 weeks and was installed the next business day. The door looks great and significantly improves that exterior of the home. I would highly recommend Markham Garage Doors to anyone wanting to replace their garage door(s).

I found Wire Master on Homestars as I needed emergency outside electrical work done when Toronto Hydro disconnected power to my fathers home due to falling electrical wires. The home was vacant but was for sale and realtor showings were scheduled to take place during the outage. Oliver Jakimovski responded to my email request within a few hours on a Friday afternoon and within the hour went to the home to look at the issue. He called me back and thoroughly explained how it needed to be fixed and patiently answered all my questions. He provided a detailed written quote later that evening along with some potential issues that that may occur. My father, who no longer lived in the home, and I ( who live out of town) decided to proceed with the work . Oliver scheduled the work for the next day, had it ESA inspected and contacted Toronto Hydro to reconnect the power. As Toronto Hydro could not attend until the following day, Oliver returned to the house when Toronto Hydro was there to ensure everything went well. As the home was vacant and we could not be onsite, he texted me photos of the work before and after and kept me updated throughout the process as to the status of the work. I cannot thank Oliver enough. He exceeded expectations and I highly recommend.

I contacted Kiya as well as a few other Electricians in the area on a Friday afternoon due to falling outside electrical wires at my fathers home that resulted in Toronto Hydro disconnecting the power to the home. To his credit, Kiya was the only person to answer my phone call and offered to go to the house within a few hours to look at the problem. He called me back a few hours later to discuss the work that needed to be done. When I asked for clarification on a few points (due to my lack of electrical knowledge and to the fact that I didn't understand everything he said due to his strong accent) he quickly became frustrated and hung up on me. I cannot attest to the quality of his work as I did not use his services. However I would not recommend him due to his attitude. Please note that I never offered him cash for an illegal installation as per his response. I would never do that for safety reasons.

I contacted Dr. Tubs in mid-July 2020 to reglaze an an original brown tub located in a 1962 family home. We also asked for a quote to reglaze the brown tiles on the walls of the bathroom. Enza provided a detailed estimate providing several price options the same day that I requested the quote and forwarded pictures of the tub and tiles. We elected to reglaze the tub only as we were working with a very tight budget. Enza scheduled an appointment the following week and the work was completed within a few hours. The tub looks new and sparkling clean. I am quite satisfied with the results. I would not hesitate to use the services of Dr. Tubs again.

I contacted Newridge Refinishing Group in late July 2020 to discuss refinishing three levels of a family sidesplit home that we wanted to sell. The home was built in 1962 and the hardwood floors were in original condition with many scratches and looked dingy. Scott quoted us a fair price and agreed to have the work done as quickly as possible due to our tight schedule. We were warned that some of the dark stains on the floor caused most likely by animal stains might not be able to be removed. As we were on a tight budget we decided not to refinish the stairs. Sebastian completed the work quickly and I am extremely satisfied with the results. They went out of their way to accommodate our tight timeline. Although a few of the dark stains in a small den could not be fully removed, all of the other stains and darker patches were removed and the floors look brand new. We were given the option of staining all the floors darker to hide the stains but we declined. I would not hesitate to use Newridge Refinishing again or to recommend them to others. Communication at all times was excellent and the results are superb. My only regret is that we did not refinish the stairs as well as the difference between the stairs and the refinished floors is significant. I have attached Before and After pictures.

We searched a couple of kitchen designers and decided upon Sky Kitchens based on price and the excellent reviews provided through Homestars. We were very happy with the final result. Sukh did a custom stain colour and fixed a couple a minor issues after installation. I would definitely recommend them and in fact I am now using them to design new bathroom vanities for us.
