Move Electrical outlet , surge protector, smoke/Co detectors
We needed electrical work done in our kitchen prior to a renovation. Ryan fromCaptain Electric educated us about our "not code" smoke detectors. We had no idea that our detectors were not to code. He also educated us on the importance of the surge protector. We never felt pressured to proceed with the quote. Ryan will return after our kitchen refacing to complete a few more jobs for us. Thank you

Thank you Antoinette for your review here on HomeStars. *** Smoke Alarms are something that are often overlooked. The mere presence of smoke alarms does not necessarily equate to safety. We are all saddened when we hear of fires and smoke that take someone's life. This is why, when we are in a client's home, we always look at their Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms. It is important that they have not expired. They may even appear to be okay because the alarm sounds when the test button is pressed, but that does not mean the actual sensor will detect smoke when smoke is present. Most are rated for 10 years only (some are less). ...If they are approaching 10 years old, it is good to have them replaced. If there are not enough Smoke Alarms, more should be added. New code actually requires Smoke Alarms with Strobe Lights in each bedroom in new home construction, in addition to hallways, and on each floor. ... Carbon Monoxide Alarms are also required to meet building code, and something every homeowner needs to have in place. ***Surge protection is also something that we highly recommend to protect your home electronics and appliances from damage. .... We thank you for choosing Captain Electric Antoinette, and will see you soon, when you are ready to have us back, and looking forward to seeing your new refaced cabinets. ...bw
