Another great job for me by PTR Carpentry. I have a very old garage in need of major repair but I also lots of competing priorities for my money this year! :) Paul came to look at the job. His experience means he could quickly suggest the right short-term solution to make the garage safe and useable. He meets the committments he makes - from arriving when planned, to completing the job on the time and for the budget agreed to, and as always exceeding the discussed spec's. The repairs look amazing. I am comfortable that the garage will last for the time I need to save to replace it. I am absolutely delighted! Thanks Paul and crew.

One of my neighbours used RedRobinMasonary for some foundation work. I also checked the company out on Homestars. I originally called Dave to have him quote on tuck pointing my 80 year old house. After checking out the house, he asked if I were planning replace/change the size of the old windows. I told him not for a a year or two, he suggested that I wait and combine the two jobs together as a way to save money. In his opinion, the tuck pointing was not urgent. Given that I was overbudget on other renovations last year that was welcome news. This year, having lived a year with an internal dryer vent, I wanted an external dry vent drilled in the foundation and the existing and unusable one closed up. Dave indicated that there was a minimum daily rate for small jobs and suggested adding some tuck pointing to fill up the day. The day went as was promised from start to finish. I am very pleased with the job and will be calling RedRobinMasonary for several more jobs.

I first came to know Paul at PTR Carpentry by observing him working at my neighbour’s house outside on the deck in January. Everything about the job impressed me as I watched him as did a brief conversation I had with him. When I talked to my neighbor about the work, she said that she was thrilled as usual and that PTR Carpentry had done already four or five jobs for her. Knowing that every job was different, I also checked him out on Homestars, Better Business Bureau, etc, etc. Paul is as fantastic as my neighbour and the other reviews on Homestars indicate. Everything about my job (full demo and reframe of the main floor of a house) was completed as promised, on time, and on budget. Paul and his crew are professional and wonderful to deal with. When changes have to be made, as seems to happen with any renovation, he had great solutions ready. When my driveway was damaged (not by PTR carpentry) by the dumpster company he said that he would deal with the company to have it fixed for no cost or effort to me. The other way I checked out Paul’s work after it was complete was by asking each of the trades going forward (flooring company, drywall contractor, plumber and electrician) how good a job the reframe was. All of them said it was one of the best reframe jobs they had ever seen, that it made their job easier, saved them time and likely saved me money! I would strongly recommend Paul and PTR Carpentry. I have lots more work to do on my house and I will be calling Paul again and again!
