I had a really great service done by So-Clean, more specifically Herson and Ricardo. I used this company when I first moved into my place 7 years ago and had a great experience so decided to go with them again, and I am glad I did. They did a thorough job of cleaning our carpets that had stains from a renovation we just did and our microfiber couch that had water stains all over it. They were great at letting me know what to expect, what they were going to do and then delivering on it. They were on time and respectful of my place. I would definitely recommend them for any needs you may have.

I had Air Force duct cleaning clean out my ducts and dryer after a renovation. Danny and Youssef came on time and were meticulous in laying out tarps to not dirty my carpet. They were personable, hard working and pleasant people. Once they were done, they showed me pictures of before and after which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend using this company after seeing their work first hand. Thank you Danny and Youssef for doing such a great job!

I contacted Dima Plumbing to address a kitchen pipe leak beneath my sink and to replace my faucet. I had heard about Andrei's exceptional service from positive Homestars reviews, which convinced me to hire him. Andrei provided initial estimates over the phone and managed to accommodate me for a Friday night appointment, which I truly appreciated. Upon his arrival, Andrei assessed the situation and found a solution for the pipe issue that was more efficient than initially anticipated. He charged me less than the original estimate, which I found very considerate. During his visit, Andrei demonstrated professionalism and a positive attitude, despite the long day he had already endured. He encountered some unexpected challenges with the faucet due to my older house, but he handled them with composure and even injected some humor into the situation. This lighthearted approach made our interaction genuinely enjoyable. In light of his exceptional service, I wholeheartedly recommend Andrei from Dima Plumbing.

After hearing so many horror stories about contractors my wife and I were apprehensive about embarking on the biggest renovation to date. We did the standard three quotes for both of the bathrooms (powder and main) using Homestars and one of the quotes was from Kitchen and Bath Guys. Vince Spitale reached out to me not too long after and came by our place for a free quote. My wife and I appreciated his personable, humourous yet no bs approach and the fact that his recommendations of the job werent based on upping the bill but making the final product as best as it can be and within budget. There were no extra costs that mysteriously popped up because all the extras that we wanted were agreed to and put into the contract before the work started. I also appreciated that he was always available for questions and he understood that this was foreign to us. The communication was fantastic throughout the process and he was open and honest about the job. I also have to mention how incredible his team was including his subcontractors as they were friendly and hardworking. The rotation of who was coming in was very well organized and I could see progress everyday. Vince wasnt satisfied until we were and he would check up on us to see whether he and his team were meeting expectations. Overall, this was a great experience which exceeded our expectations and I plan to use Kitchen and Bath Guys to renovate the entire house in the near future. My brother in law asked me to help find someone on homestars who could help with their gutters. They had it done a few years ago but the last contractor did a bad job (should of used homestars ;). I looked around and saw that Miro was close by our area and had such great reviews. We called him up and even though Miro was busy he was able to come by the next day in the evening before he went home to take a look. He saw that they weren't put on properly and that they were in the process of coming off the house. Miro was thorough and professional with his assessment and even took a look at mine because I got mine done by the same contractor. He ordered the part we needed and as soon as it came in he came by to install. It was an easy hassle free experience that was very much appreciated. Great person and great work and honest.

I've had some issues with the bottom element of my oven not heating up and called a few appliance repair companies. A lot of other companies put me off or didn't call back but I got a quick responses from man with a wrench. The repair person Chris did a great job. He actually came with the element needed because he thought that it was burnt out. He was able to repair it and diagnose it on the same day by being proactive and buying it before he came to diagnose it. Great service and great response times.

I hired Craig a few months ago to remove a tree stump for me and I had such a great experience I called him back to do another job. My mother in law had a skinny tree in her backyard and he came by to take it down. It was incredible to watch a professional at work. I also had a large tree in the front of my house that I needed trimmed because it was hitting the house. Craig trimmed it and removed all the deadwood. It's looks great. Even when he was done he was still removing small branches that I would have never have noticed. He went above and beyond for me. He's a perfectionist and takes pride in a job well done. I definitely recommend Craig.

I noticed a hole above my door in the caulking where wasps were coming in and out. Upon further inspection I noticed another hole under the eaves that they were flying in and out also. I decided to caulk the hole and then preceded to email pesticon to send someone over. I was impressed that within minutes I got a call and I was told to take off the caulking right away because the wasps could go deeper into the house and possibly come into the house. I'm glad they let me know because I didn't think of that. Andre came the following day and he put all my fears at ease. His customer service was outstanding and he made me feel safe entering my home once again. Pesticon gives you a 6 month guarantee so I know I'm in good hands going forward. Another thing I like was that I got a notification when he was on the way. It's a small thing but the customer service and communication that pesticon delivered was appreciated. I would definitely hire pesticon again for all my future pest needs though I hope I don't have any needs in the future.

I had a small tree stump that I needed whittled down and I called Craig for a quote. He was really busy but luckily he was in the area and was able to give me a quote. I wanted to go ahead with it and since it was a quick job and he was able to do it on the spot because he had the machine in the trailer. Craig was friendly, helpful and gave me some good tips on my trees in the front. I will be calling him in the future for all my tree needs.

I followed the normal procedure and requested some quotes and met with a few HVAC companies. Marnie from convertible heating and air conditioning was amazing to deal with. I showed her around and she explained everything to me and what I appreciated the most was she was transparent. It didn't feel like a sales job it felt like she was cared about what I needed and never tried to run up the price on me. She was looking for ways for me to save money and I appreciated that. The quote she gave me was fair and wasn't the most expensive yet wasn't the cheapest but I liked her and had a good feeling. Once she left I emailed her a couple times and she responded quickly. The installation was scheduled a week later. Adam and Adam did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. They came on time and worked all day. They were very nice and personable and explained everything to me when they left. I would definitely recommend this company if you want a quality product and a quality company.

I hired North Durham to fix my oven in October 2017 . Oven was not keeping a proper temperature and would overheat. I could buy a new one but I wanted to try and fix it. They did fix it and it's still working six months later. They did a good job and the service was great. No issues at all. Fair price and great service.

I contacted Captain Electric to conduct an electrical home inspection because during our general home inspection a few issues were found that needed to be addressed. The main problem was that there was aluminum wiring in the house which wasn’t installed properly and we could smell burned plastic when we used some of the lights. We booked an appointment through Diane who let us know about the $99 fee and that she would call before the electricians came. The day of the inspection I received a call from Diane that they were on the way. Ryan and Nathan arrived and they began their electrical inspection. I showed them the electrical panel, the outlets and some of the issues we were having with our lights. They then told us about our options to do an aluminum rejuvenation of the home and redo our electrical panel with arc vault breakers to bring them to code. My wife and I agreed that this would be worth the investment and we also agreed to install smoke/co2 alarms. I appreciated that they have set pricing for their work so you know that you won't have to pay anymore then what they quoted you. It was a two day job and they were at my home at 8am both days on the dot. They were very respectful of my home and my elderly cat who wanted to know what was going on and who these people were. Ryan and company also put up all of our new light fixtures, installed a surge protector on our electrical panel and gave me a lesson on how to operate the new electrical panel. Along with that they replaced all receptacles in the house with the aluminum rejuvenation. It was a really big job and I am very happy with the service that I received from Captain Electric. I would definitely recommend them as they are a first class organization from customer service on the phone to the electricians on the ground.

I sent Ashton Heating and Cooling an email around midnight and was surprised when I got an email response back an hour later. Bill was very responsive and helpful with what I needed. I wanted him to take a look at my HVAC system and let me know if I needed to change them. He was up front with me that they have a few more years left and that I didn't need to change them right now. I appreciated his honesty. I also wanted to know about Aeroseal which his company does. Since I was having an issue with the upstairs being way colder than the downstairs and low air flow through the upstairs vents; I would be a good candidate for this service. He also said that I would need dampers to control the air flow in my home. I booked a date a couple days later for 9am. His crew came and immediately started working. Bill came also which was great. They worked non stop and by 2 they were done. The crew were good people and I appreciate that Bill is straight up and real. They were able to seal 22 square inches of holes in my vents using Aeroseal. I noticed this morning that my upstairs was, for the first time, actually warm and that there was so much more airflow in the upstairs vents. I'm very glad I stumbled on Ashton Heating and Cooling because I found my HVAC company going forward.

I just bought a new home and wanted to get a thorough plumbing inspection. I emailed the company on Sunday night and received a call within 20 minutes. I didn't have my phone on me but Amanda left a message and I called back the next day. It's incredible how fast they were in getting back to me on Sunday. I booked the diagnostic and was told that they would arrive between 12-3 on Saturday. At about 12:45 Daniel Thomas arrived. He was professional, knowledgeable and personable. He performed the diagnostic and answered all of my questions. He did exactly what I wanted and I will heed his advice. Great experience with Mr Rooter and will give them a call when ready to fix the issues brought up in the report.

Had duct cleaning and carpet cleaning done when I purchased my new home. Shane did my duct cleaning and was professional and punctual. He explained what he was going to do and showed me what came out of the ducts. He also gave me some great ideas to keep things running smoothly. Carpet cleaning was also first class and on time. I believe his name was Matt, asked what my expectations are I knew that they would do a good job. He told me beforehand that some stains would not be able to come out which I knew already. I appreciate the fact that he told me up front when he was inspecting the carpet. He did feel bad that he couldn't get the stains out so he said he would make sure to do a really good job on the allergy relief package we bought along with the carpet cleaning. Since I have allergies in the household it was much appreciated. The customer service from the head office from Afifa and Adel was quick and responsive to all of my questions. Delivered what they said they were going to do at the cost agreed.

Don from Peace of Mind Inspections was thorough and professional. He arrived on time and immediately started to check the outside and the roof. He recommended that I join him as he went through the house and he explained everything to me that was an issue, what could become an issue and maintenance advice that was easy to understand. He took the time to explain things to me when I asked questions (and I asked a lot of questions). He had a great sense of humour which made it easy to talk to him and I didn't feel intimidated. He never rushed through a section and made sure that he inspected every last detail. I read a lot of the reviews before making the choice and I am glad I did.
