I had used HD installation service a few times during the last 3 years and I was satisfied with the price and service. As a result, when I needed to replaced the garage door opener, I opt for HD instead of the other contracts even though their price is very competitive. I went to HD located at Terminal Ave. and bought the garage opener, the sales advised me to buy a 11/4 HP instead of 3/4 HP for the double garage door less that 7' tall. I was told later the 11/4 was over provided. The price for installation was $149 without delivery ($70) and removal of the old opener ($50). It was easy to book the installation service with the sales in the store and the installation team of HD called me back a couple days later to give me an appointment for the contractor. On the day of the appointment, the contractor showed up for 3 minutes, told my tenant that they could't install the opener because they need more rooms on both side of the garage and they would call me back to let me know what was needed to be done. I called them back immediately but they didn't pick up. I called the HD installation team on the following day and they said the contractor will call me back. I waited for a day, the contractor didn't call back. I call HD again and they said the same thing. I called 3 times during that week and no avail. Finally, on the following week, I called again and told them if they don't call back, I would need to cancel the service, HD finally called and told me that the contractor need to charge me $735 on top of the original $149 because they need to service the garage door and they sent me the revised invoice. I told them I would get quotes from other contractors to see if the extra service was necessary. I got a quote from another big company and they only charge me $230 for labor including delivery and removal. They installed the opener for me without any hiccup and no extra charge incurred. I cancelled the service and return the garage opener to HD. I was greatly disappointed by this incident and hope my experience will help others to make a informed decision if they need installation service from HD.

I just have Eco Paving paved the driveway and side paths, back yard areas for two of my properties recently. I have mix feeling about this company. One of the sale representative over measured the areas and it was remeasured upon my request, it turns out about it was about 10% more than the actual area. However, the installation staff and the office staff were great and courteous. The rubber paving is the perfect solution for both of my properties for covering all the old, cracked concrete and different materials used over the years. I was considering different options such as concrete resurfacing, low profile decking and asphalt, and finally decided to try the rubber paving as it is most economical and best looking in my opinion. It gives the surface a soft look and also soft to walk on. The only issue is that the cost of repair is extremely expensive. What happen was my gardener chipped off some area on top of the stairs by pushing the lawnmower through. The damage areas were a size of a quarter, only a few on the stairs, Eco Paving charged me $550 + tax for the repair that took less then 30 minutes by one staff. It is most 10% of the total cost for the project. I found it quite unacceptable. Talked to the staff in the office but in no avail. The expensive repair cost is my only concerned.
