We hired Tom last summer to remove our existing porch and build an all new one from scratch. From beginning to end, Tom was great to work with. He worked with us to keep our project on budget, managed to address all unforeseen issues along the way (like correcting the shoddy work of previous contractors) and the quality of his work was truly excellent. We called Waheed after reading his reviews on Homestars. He came to our house on very short notice and managed our expectations. He explained that the most effective way to catch a rat was to use a contact poison, but because we have a baby in the house, Waheed advised against it. Instead, he recommended sticky traps, which although take longer and aren't as effective, were safer for the baby. Waheed was always available for questions and was very professional. In the end, after two weeks, we trapped the rat ourselves in the basement washroom, but Waheed promptly came the next morning, caught and disposed of it. We would definitely recommend him to others.
Complete home re-wire with removal of all knob and tube wiring
My wife and I purchased our first home last year. We decided from the get-go to have all of the old knob and tube wiring replaced. Ken Lam of Bastone Electrical Contractors came highly recommended from a friend who also had to re-wire his old house. Ken was easy to reach by phone, came by to do an initial assessment and prepared a quote for us. We received a few other quotes for the same work but Ken's price combined with his manner on the phone and in person sealed the deal. We scheduled the work to begin a few weeks later, coinciding with our possession date. Ken and his crew arrived on time on the first day and we walked through the entire house together. Ken made some excellent suggestions for upgrades we hadn't thought of and worked with us to put in everything we wanted. We had a tight schedule trying to fit in a number of renovations in the three weeks we had before moved in. Ken and his crew worked on Saturday and Monday of the long weekend and finished the job ahead of schedule in under 4 days. Though we were not yet living in the house, Ken and his crew were careful and conscientious and cleaned up at the end of every day. I would highly recommend Ken to anyone looking for a small or large electrical job. Upon completion we received our ESA certificate stating that all the knob and tube wiring had been replaced.
