- Renovating our 2 bathrooms was our first ever 'real' renovation project. You always have visions and concerns with the stories you hear when it comes to renovations. Craig and his assistant Josh worked on transforming our bathrooms over the course of a few months. Here are the words I would use to describe the experience: Prompt: Craig and Josh were always there when they said they would be. Which was usually between 8-9 AM to 3 PM. Hardworking: They were always hustling, and I often wondered when they ate. If they did, I never saw them! Courteous: Always very polite and easy to talk to. Honest: Craig was always very straight forward about everything with honest opinions on things. Meticulous: Craig does a great job of making sure all the details are spot on. Our hexagon tiles, which aren't exactly easy to work with, are all lined up nice and straight with a perfect gap, thanks to Craig (and Josh) and their laser levels. The floor tile around our shower base is perfectly snug thanks to Craig making sure it was perfect. I'm also confident in the techniques Craig uses for waterproofing bathroom walls and tile surrounds, based on my attempt to research the best ways of doing these things and asking him questions about it. I don't think you could ask for much more!

I was excited to have finally found a shower pan that appeared to be of higher quality than one you could find at the big box stores. And indeed, I would say the overall build construction of the shower pan is excellent. I hired two very highly rated contractors with a lot of experience to install it. They tried everything they could, but noted that there was an imperfection in the shower pan that causes a lot of water to pool into 2 of the corners, and it's impossible for the water to drain correctly. Even after waiting 24 hours the pools of water are still there. When you pay $1200+ for a shower pan (around 3-6 times the typical price) you expect a shower pan that will drain correctly. Our wholesaler of Valley products has been doing everything they can to get someone at Valley to call them back and come up with a resolution, but Valley has been reluctant to do so, leaving us in a real bind.

I had always wanted an office space on my main floor. The problem was, I also needed 2 electrical receptacles for my dual monitors, and 4 HDMI input jacks, 4 network cables, 6 USB ports, and more. Oh, and I didn't want to see the wires. And I wanted some of the receptacles to be recessed. And this would all be done on an exterior wall that probably doesn't have much business having this sort of modification done to it. I also needed pot lights put into a finished ceiling above the home office space. Another fairly difficult task that would require drilling/augering through multiple joists. It took Shane and his apprentice the entire day, but they got it all done, working efficiently with a great attitude the entire time, even when challenge after challenge would arise. First there was the unexpected HVAC in the wall. Then there was the joy of fishing wires through places where wires do not like to be fished. In the end, it all turned out great, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Thanks 24/7 !
