Odd Job responded quickly with a quote, and after some back and forth emails to clarify the job (I bought the parts myself) they provided an online confirmation with the booking. Everything was clear and straightforward. The day of the job Pierre arrived early and was friendly and easy to deal with. He explained the work as he was doing it and answered all my questions. He cleaned up everything and the work looks and works great.

Our existing hardwood floors were about 40 years old and were very squeaky, so we decided to replace the floors. After reviewing Homestars we called a couple of companies, and chose Alliance. I went to the showroom and spoke with Nemo. He was very helpful and narrowed down our choices based on our needs. He pointed us to a high quality product that was on sale at the time. The job took a couple of weeks as we required removal of existing hardwood, installation of subfloor and finally installation of the hardwood. Also we needed one area to be complete so we could shift furniture around. The Alliance team was very good in working with our needs and everything was started on time and completed on time. The installers worked a couple of late nights and that was appreciated. We have now had this product for a couple of months and it looks great and feels solid. The only quibble I have is that there are a couple of minor squeaks (to be fair they did say it is hard to be completely squeak free) and a minor scratch to the wall during installation. However I would recommend this company as they are very professional.

This review is late as the work was completed in Nov 2011, but better late than never! I spoke to Clint on the phone and he was very good at answering all my questions. Ron came to the house for the estimate and it was quite reasonable compared to other quotes. Our house bricks are unique and Turnbull was able to find something that matched quite well. The start date was pushed back as the weather was not cooperating but once started the work was completed quickly and the chimney looks great. As I am writing over a year later, the chimney still looks to be in great shape and I have had no issues.

I met with Darla to inquire about yard maintenance. As we had moved to a new house with an existing garden, I had a lot of questions. She was friendly and helpful and able to answer all the questions I had! I asked the Garden Girls to "winterize" my yard this past fall, and they did a great job. I will be asking them to continue working on my yard in 2012!

Delroy came by because our fridge had water pooling behind it. Rather than advocate an expensive repair, he showed us how to solve the problem ourselves! He also had a look at our stove, which we did not call him about, but was not performing up to par. He told me where to get the necessary part and how to repair the stove myself. Delroy ended up saving us major money and was friendly and honest. I would highly recommend his services to anyone.

G.A.S. replaced an old hot water tank with a new natural gas tank. Ryan and Gary were able to supply and install the new tank for considerably less than the "big name" retailers. They were friendly and explained what they were doing along the way (to someone who knows nothing about hot water tanks!). In addition, there was a minor issue a couple weeks after the initial installation, but Gary came back to fix it right away. I would definitely recommend G.A.S. to anyone who is looking for furnace or water tank work to be done.

When it came time to replace my windows, I turned to HomeStars for guidance, and got quotes from two companies. Both quotes were similar but I decided to go with Casa Bella due to the positive reviews, and I was not disappointed! Manny and Oliver were the installers and they were quite friendly, did a great job, and answered the numerous questions I had along the way. The job was completed on time and a follow up issue I had was dealt with immediately. The sales rep, Devon, also did a good job in communicating the window choices available and being flexible in scheduling. I would definitely recommend Casa Bella.
