My recent experience with Tender Touch was quite different from others posted on this site. I would neither use their services again nor recommend them. My issues: 1. They showed up very late for the appointment...called and said they were stuck in traffic, 15 minutes from my home and then showed up 1.5 hours later...I believe they were running late due to an earlier move. Another individual who drove through the same area had no issues with traffic. 2. Paid for three movers...one decided he would use the opportunity to clean the truck...in 45 minutes, not so much as a pair of socks was moved. This same mover then was talking to a neighbour about a move...I should not be paying for this time. Another mover was texting, talking on the phone and smoking...again, something he could do while in the truck. I should not have to address issues such as this to a professional mover. 3. The moving specialist NEVER responds to phone calls...this is important if you are having issues on moving day...try to see if you can actually speak to a live person when calling...it doesn't matter which selection you choose, you are bumped into voice mail. Jessica needs to step up her level of service, especially to follow-up when, on the day of the move she received a phone call and email about the conduct of the movers. 4. There was a new mover on the team. It was embarrassing how the other two movers were talking to him...this is training at its worst and completely unconstructive. 5. My new home is a 45 minute drive...took them two full hours to get here...my ex-wife drove past them as they had run out of gas...again, why was I paying for such a stupid move. 6. Moved into the house and literally scuffed every wall...I had to put down paper as they walked into the house with muddy boots...this is unforgivable in a new house where the outside was such a field of mud they were concerned about parking in the driveway for fear of getting stuck. 7. Despite being clearly marked, many boxes and items were put in places they were not intended to go, resulting in my having to move boxes from the basement to the second floor, etc. 8. Do not sign a Visa, MC slip at the outset of the move. I have been informed by my bank that an extra $177 was added to the move. 9. The itemized quotation was not accurate, as they neglect to give estimates of insurance, supplies, etc. 10. There is a huge gap between their stated Mission statement and reality...they do not help to make the relocation experience "as fun, rewarding and stress-free as possible." Certainly, they did not provide exceptional service, their staff was not courteous and, based on my experience, their "impeccable reputation" is undeserved. I have moved approximately every two years for the last thirty years - local and national - and have never had such a poor experience.
