Brian Wood came on board to help us with our home renovation after some difficult times with another general contractor and architects. We had needed to (growing children) and wanted to update our 1911 Vancouver heritage house. We planned some additions and alterations that might make our life in the house a run little more smoothly. Of course, a small reno turned into a complete down-to-the-studs restoration and renovation! Brian worked very closely with us, helping to navigate many difficult situations with Vancouver City Hall posing some of our greater challenges. Brian was very patient with us as we made difficult decisions at every turn over the ensuing year and a half. He was very knowledgeable and always helpful. The many trades that he brought to the project were talented and a delight to work with. Almost without exception Brian's group were very respectful and worked tirelessly to bring us to a happy conclusion. Thanks to Brian's constant attention to detail and his high standards our house is an absolute beauty queen - one hundred years old and positively shining!

reliable electrical are really reliable. they worked efficiently. i feel confident in the quality of their work. the workers were courteous and cooperative. i would recommend them to anyone. essentially, we gave them very little direction and with our builder they worked as a team to design the electrical for our whole house.

joe from aqua-pro is very talented and knowledgeable about his trade. he took the time to educate himself about our european style hot water heating system. he takes pride in his work and does a great job. he comes very quickly whenever we have a minor kink in our system. he is very friendly and easy to work with. we are relieved when we see because we know he will do a good job and leave our house immaculate.

choosing the tile was one of the trickiest decisions of our reno. after an exhautive search, we settled onfontile's aesthetic. we found that each tile store had a particular look and in the end decided that fontile best represented the look we were after. the staff were totally great. they were patient and knowledgeable. we chose a high end tile and felt that this was an expense that was worth the extra money. everybody who sees our new home is smitten with the fabulous tiles on our kitchen backsplash and the clean lines and serene mood created by our bathroom tile.

wood windows for a heritage house are very expensive but m.r. windows are reasonable priced. they were flexible to meet our needs. i love our windows, they are beautiful. they are double glazed and cut out street noise and keep our house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. the new windows of our home are one of the most noticeable and functional improvements of our whole reno.

we purchased our bathroom fixtures for three bathrooms from emco. they had a good selection. they had a knowledgeable staff who were able to make good recommendations. they knew their product lines well and recommended products that matched our aesthetic needs. their prices were comprable to other fixtures retailers. before you decide on a bath tub make sure that you sit in it . our bath tub looks great but doesn't fit my body - i can't stretch my legs out. i didn't take the time to try out our bathtub and wish i had.

we did a complete reno on our 1912 heritage house. we chose wooden doors from leadwin because they offer a wide range of styles including a heritage style that matched our house's era. we chose a shaker style. they were patient with us and knowledgeable and efficient and delivered the doors when promised. the price was mid range but we found the prices to be reasonable for wooden doors. they look beautiful. every time i go through one of my doors i think "oh, what a beautiful door". our exterior door style was not a stock door but custom manufactured for us. the interior doors on our upper floor were also custom manufactured because we wanted the doors to be thicker matching our exterior door thickness. our doors were manufactured right here in b.c.

the guys at kingsland stone were efficient and friendly. they booked us in within a reasonable amount of time and then came to install at the appointed time. their services were competitively priced and they stayed within the quoted budget. the installation was professionally done and the countertops look great. they advised at the time of installation to use marble for a kitchen counter but if we did to have it honed. this would have cost an additional $1200. we chose not to and now one year later we will indeed be budgeting to have the marble honed. i would recommend if you use marble for a kitchen countertop that you have it installed honed and sealed.

the staff at midland were friendly, available and knowledgeable. their prices were reasonable, with a large selection in an extensive showroom. they had a good range of price points. they delivered our appliances on time and they are continually providing service even though we've had the appliances for over a year now.

woody millwork provided a reliable and realistic quote. they stayed within the budget. the cabinets were delivered in a timely fashion and installed quickly. i had to be very clear with my instructions so as to avoid any misunderstandings or misconceptions. we provided them with a very detailed kitchen plan which they executed. we are happy with how it looks and feel we got the quality that we paid for. the wooden exterior doors look great and the cabinet boxes are very standard.
