We worked with Creative Union for 3 gut-job/new build home renovation projects, and 3 for 3, they blew us away. To say they are solution oriented and innovative in their approach and design is an understatement. From the time we engaged them through to project completion, they were supportive, insightful, thoughtful, and reliable. And in all three projects, the end results were far better than we ever envisioned - even having seen the blueprints and having talked through the details together. Regardless of whether it was unexpected foundation concerns, pre-existing plumbing and electrical that needed to be redone, or deteriorating brickwork, Creative Union worked tirelessly with us on our budget and priorities and brought to the table many unique and beautiful creative out-of-the-box solutions to stretch our budget and still meet the building codes and functional needs of our projects. The end-result has been a home in which we have not had to compromise our aesthetic while having full confidence in the quality and safety of the work done within our home. We are so thankful for the care, attention to detail, and passion Creative Union put into each of the designs and execution of our house renovations and could not recommend them enough to friends, family, and others.

Our garage door has been temperamental and needing repeated repairs. I previously used other services like Jiffy or Setter to find a repairman to come fix it, but the fixes were always a temporary bandaid solution. I finally came on Homestars to find a good repairman to fix our door in a way that we won't have to pay more to get it done again in a few months time. I called Danny and he picked up right away and scheduled us in for the next day. He was punctual, friendly, helpful, and all around fantastic. He not only fixed my door within the hour, but gave me an idea of what may have caused the issue. Replaced tracks, realigned door, and recoded our devices for a really great price. I highly recommend him and will definitely be calling him again if anything comes up - although I don't expect that to happen anytime soon as he did such a good job! Thank you again, Danny. I came across Crazy Joe's on Homestars and decided to give him a call. We needed some black out blinds and sheer drapes installed in two rooms in our home for the arrival of a new little one. Especially with big east facing windows that let a very bright sun in earlier and earlier every morning. Joe was fantastic. He was kind, helpful, and did everything in his power to help me with our window treatments to get as close to the budget I had. The product itself was great. We love our privacy sheers - they offer just the right amount of privacy, even at night - and let enough light in during the day. The black out blinds are great as well. Just what we needed for our baby. Pedro, Joe's installer was also wonderful. He was accommodating and did everything he could to schedule our install as quickly as he could and got them up in a snap. He was knowledgeable and clearly was expert in what he was doing. When we needed to make a small modification to the length of the track, Joe and his son Charlie were both very helpful in talking me through my options and helping me select the right one for our family. All in all, a great experience.

After an extensive basement and walk-out reno, our family engaged Archetype Design + Construction to work with us on our third floor home addition. From start to finish, Marijan was fantastic. He took the time to sit down with me to clearly walk through the plan of attack for our project - as well as his plans to mitigate areas of risks, such as inclement weather before the roof was fully in place. He was organized and incredibly proactive in his communication in anticipation of work needing to be done in the week(s) ahead. Our project progressed very quickly and we appreciated how hard Marijan and his team worked and the level of coordination required to get tradespeople lined up and in on time to complete our job... particularly as we had a baby on the way. And their hard work showed, as our project would have been completed ahead of schedule, were it not for a vendor delay on our stairs (no fault of Marijan's). In the end, it was completed right on time - according to Marijan's estimations. The finished work was outstanding. As we've come to appreciate about Archetype Design + Construction, Marijan's eye for detail and commitment to quality was (as before) unparalleled. We have worked with a number of contractors in the past and none can hold a candle to Marijan's commitment to doing things right and making sure things are done well. He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done to his satisfaction - which consistently exceeded our own. We are very happy with our third floor addition and feel lucky we were able to work with Marijan on our project. And look forward to working with him again in the future. Thank you, Marijan and your team, for our beautiful home and everything you did for us. We know you pulled out all the stops and can't say enough how much we appreciate it. We are so unbelievably happy with our new living space.

Archetype Design + Construction was selected for the first phase of our home renovations, which involved digging out and installing a new walk-out from our basement as well as remodelling our basement into a home live/work studio. As with many old homes in downtown Toronto, our basement ended up gifting us with one surprise after the next from mouldy walls, crumbling masonry, to a frightening web of electrical work patched together over the many years. Through the whole process, Marijan was forthcoming with his team's discoveries and took care to discuss options with us and painstakingly dealt with the scope changes and issues uncovered. We were consistently impressed with his level of professionalism, commitment to our project, as well as eye for quality and detail. It gave us peace of mind and a lot of confidence in him. Now that the transformation of our basement is complete and we're moving on to the second phase of our renovation plans, we're very happy to be working with him and his team again. Would highly recommend Archetype Design + Construction to anyone.

My review is long, long overdue, as we had our waterproofing of our front, back and one side of the house done before the Fall. However, the outstanding customer service, consideration, quality, and attention to detail that the Umbrella team offers is definitely worth sharing. Even if I am half a year later doing so. My husband and I bought an old home in downtown Toronto fully prepared for a few surprises and the need for some updates and maintenance. However, what we weren't prepared for was a house that had water leaking in from all sides (in addition to many other things we'd already dealt with) - so much so that during an installation of an electrical outlet, our electrician reported back that the box actually sank into the wall, the dry wall was so wet. I talked to various companies about our situation, and in the end, was the most impressed with how thorough and patient Vlad and Bohdana were with all my questions and their knowledge around what were the likely issues. I also felt reassured by how systematic Vlad was and that he went around checking every wall for water seepage with his meter and was able to tell me where the leaks were and offer us options and his recommendation on what we should do. In the end, the problem turned out to be more significant than we had hoped (obviously no fault of Umbrella's), and we felt it was important to complete it before the winter hit. Although it was a very busy season, Bohdana was great in fitting us as soon as possible between other clients. From beginning to end, Vlad, Juri, and their teams were respectful, considerate, and incredibly hard working. When we found that some work needed to be done inside the house, they covered everything with plastic and wore plastic over their shoes to minimize the dust and dirt they brought into the house. Part of the job was also in the scorching heat in on the south side of the house without shade and they never complained and worked tirelessly. Now that the Winter has passed and we're well into the Spring thaw, we've been able to replace the interior drywalls with the confidence that we have no more leaks. When opening the wall revealed a gas pipe, Vlad and Juri didn't hesitate to return on short notice within 24 hours to double check and test it to ensure there weren't any leaks coming through the pipe - especially after it had been sealed off. I cannot recommend Umbrella Waterproofing enough. I appreciate that they are so reachable, responsive, attentive to every detail, honest in likely issues, and take the extra care to answer questions and to offer reassurance. Thank you ever so much!

I've used El Cheapo for the many moves I've had over the years and have always loved them. This last move was my most difficult, and I didn't hesitate to call this long-time trusted moving company. The guys worked fast and got the truck packed up as tight as they could to accommodate all our belongings. We noticed things in the weeks afterwards as we were setting up our house that we weren't happy with, and really appreciated how responsive and kind Ted was in immediately following up and helping us remedy the things we had noticed. Things don't always go perfectly and things can happen, but what matters most is how things are handled when that happens, and El Cheapo were fantastic. It definitely reminded me why I love this company so much and the future, I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

This is the second time I've contacted Braymore and had the fortune of getting to work with them. Both times was to move the mammoth of an industrial console table - the first time, in and second time, out of our studio loft. Both times was an absolute pleasure. Richard, Kab, and Denis were absolute pros. They were calm and strategic in planning out how to get our beloved table out of our home into our new one and handled it with so much care and gentleness - if only all movers were like this! They made it look so easy... even though I know it wasn't. The thing is a beast! The best part, how nice they were. Thank you so much, guys! We really appreciate it!

We bought a house and needed to get all the locks changed on short notice. I called Locksmith Care, and Dimitar picked up right away. He was able to give me a general quote and schedule me in for that afternoon. Not only was he on time, he showed up early. The locks we had were quite old and we had a few surprises (double cylinders, missing key for one etc.). Dimitar just rolled with all the unexpected, explaining to me the implications, and was very fast and efficient in swapping out all our locks. A few of the locks were sticky and he made sure to take the time to patiently adjust them until they all worked smoothly to his satisfaction. He didn't do anything without checking with me first and making sure he understood what I wanted and I understood the decisions I was making. He was fantastic to deal with. I couldn't recommend him enough. We'll definitely be calling him again when we likely swap out our old locks for new ones when we're ready to later next year.
