Towards the end of March we discovered a leak in the ceiling of our 3 storey home that has a flat roof which we replaced in the late 80's. Examination of the roof showed a lot of snow and ice turning to water as melting began. We called in several HomeStar companies for estimates and received quotes for complete roof replacement ranging from $9,000 to $33,000.
Robert from Alpine Roofing begins by looking at the leak area on the 3rd floor and then examines the roof which by this time is 80% covered with water. Robert asks when was the last time we actually saw water coming into the house and when told it was more than 1 week intelligently suggests that the problem must have come from the now dry area of the roof. As a result, Alpine was contracted to simply put a whole new cover over the entire roof and to add a curb between my roof and my semi detached neighbor. I also requested special attention to the downspout area.
Within a few days, Dashi and crew of 5 arrived, prepared the whole area, placed and sealed a first layer (in a North South direction) and then topped that with a sealed heavy second layer (this time in an East West direction) which to me spells super quality. Dashi added a 2nd 2x4 to make the curb (between neighbors) even higher. Extra care was taken at the downspout to ensure efficiency. They completed all of this in 1 day and did proper clean-up.
Two days later, the final touch crew came and installed heavy gauge metal flashing on all the outside areas and sealing it with high grade caulking. With the capping covering the new roof material, I feel reassured that water leaks will be avoided. Again the clean-up was perfect.
Finally, in dealing with the office, William's first question to me was about my satisfaction level (great) and only then about payment (they do accept credit cards) and they provide a 10 year workmanship warranty.
I definitely recommend Alpine Roofing.
