Recently took possession of our new house and wanted to have a thorough cleaning before moving in. Looked around and found MaidPro to be highly recommended so thought I'd give them a try. Glad I did! Gail and Heather arrived promptly in the morning and proceeded to do a terrific job. They were polite and professional and I was more than pleased with their work.

As usual with home inspections, I needed to get one done within a few days. Gave Michael a call on a Friday morning and got an appointment for 9 am Sunday. He arrived promptly at 9 and began his inspection. He approached the inspection systematically, starting with the outside, then proceeding from the basement to the upper levels. He included thermal imaging at no extra charge, which was essential in my case as the basement was 95% finished. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his work and discussed things throughout. He found things I would never have thought to look for and, although not significant for the most part, are things that need to be addressed. When he was finished he sent his complete, detailed report within an hour or so. All in all it was a very professional and impressive job. I highly recommend 4 Sight Inspections.

I purchased a replacement toilet from a "big box" home improvement store and used them for removal of the old toilet and installation of the new toilet. Unbeknownst to me, the installation of the old toilet had not been done properly (the flange had been positioned too high above the floor resulting in approximately a 1" distance between the toilet and the floor). The "big box" installer, although obviously quite competent in uncomplicated toilet installations, was not able to properly complete the new toilet installation (for example, the old flange was rusted and needed to be replaced; his solution was to attach the new flange to the old, resulting in an increased gap between the toilet and the floor). The end result was a toilet that had shims jammed under it to try to keep it level and steady. This was not acceptable and I needed an immediate solution. I called Public Plumbing shortly after lunch, expecting to be told that they would be able to get someone out for an estimate the next day with repairs done a few days after that. To my surprise, after I explained my situation I was told that they would have someone to the house by 3 pm. The gentleman arrived a little before 3 and proceeded to remove the new toilet to fully assess the problem. When I told him my circumstances (which really required that the repairs be done as soon as possible) he determined what needed to be done (lower the the drain down to floor level and then properly install the new toilet using a new flange properly attached to the floor, not attached to the old flange). He then proceeded to do the job (much to my surprise), ensuring that it was done properly and completely. When all was said and done the new toilet was installed as it should have been and everything was cleaned up and left like new. I would highly recommend Public Plumbing and will certainly make them my first (and probably only) call for my next plumbing job.

I hired Rafal to do a cleaning and maintenance on my two gas insert fireplaces. It's been several years since last having this done. He arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and did an excellent job. He cleaned the glass on both fireplaces (which had been very cloudy) such that it looked like new. He thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned the interior and made sure everything was working properly. He was careful to keep the working area clean - when he left the area was immaculate. I would highly recommend Rafal.

My flagstone walk, stairs and patio had suffered from grout breaking up and some movement over the years (the original work was done approximately 18 years ago). I spent a few months researching and calling potential repair companies. I had difficulty in getting many of the firms to even bother coming out to review what needed to be done and providing a quote. Other firms provided quotes but didn't seem to be particularly interested in actually doing the work or didn't seem to be knowledgeable about what needed to be done. Finally I called Royal Home Improvements. They were prompt in getting back to me, reviewing the work that needed to be done and providing a detailed quote. They did an excellent job in doing the repairs, including repairing and replacing one flagstone that had broken loose from my back stairs. They arrived when they said they would and they left the work area spotless after the job was finished. I would highly recommend them.

We hired Jasna and Ivica to remodel both our ensuite and main baths. We were not sure of the specific layouts we wanted so they effectively designed both bathrooms for us, including recommended fixtures, etc. They stayed on the job until it was completely finished and they met all deadlines. The quality of their work is outstanding and we would highly recommend them.

Had Lakeshore Roofing quote on replacing my 15-year old roof. They came back with the best quote overall, clearly explaining what should be done and how they would do it. Completed the job on time and in a very professional manner. Two years later I had a leak that Dave came back twice to repair - in the end the problem actually was not with the roof but the result of some mortar falling away from the chimney. Dave rectified this for me at no cost after having spent time making other "repairs" that in hindsight might not have even been necessary and never charged for his time or service. He was always very professional in his approach and I would highly recommend his company.

Had to have the grout removed and replaced for our main floor porcelain flooring (3 rooms plus hallway) due to improper installation by kitchen renovation contractor. Chris Soper clearly explained why the grout was breaking up and coming out from between the tiles (wrong type of grout) and said that epoxy grout should have been used. He did an outstanding job removing all the old grout and replacing it with the correct epoxy grout. Our floor is now solid and should last for many, many years. We found Chris to be a true professional and highly recommend him.

Chose Garrett H to oversee our kitchen renovation and relied on him for a contractor recommendation - both decisions big mistakes. The job went well beyond the estimated time frame originally agreed to. Once Garrett got his money, getting his attention was extremely difficult. The contractor he recommended was generally good, but we had a problem with the laying of floor tile and ended up in having to have the grout removed and replaced two years after installation (at our expense). Garrett would habitually make promises and never follow through. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
