We had a dilapidated aluminum storage shed in the back yard that we've wanted replaced with a nice, solid shed for storage and a bit of a studio for some time now. We found "shed in a day" online and were very impressed with the customisability, (fixed) prices, and the titular promise to have it up in a day. My wife handled the interactions with the company, and they were unfailingly responsive and respectful. Upon payment of the deposit, they booked us a time for installation which was surprisingly soon - we've come to expect wait times of months for even fairly simple tasks. They gave us a list of homework to make sure they could get it done in a day - requirements for the path to the site, parking availability, etc, which was all very reasonable and easily done. The company phoned us back to double check on an unusual customization we made on the shed to make sure that was what we wanted, and sure enough, it was a mistake on our part - they fixed the order immediately. On the day, Matt and Marco showed up, and the whole thing was up and done in a few hours! Matt and Marco clearly cared about their work, they made sure everything was done well and solidly, while effortlessly working together. They were extremely pleasant and friendly, and when they were done you'd never know they had been here except for the much nicer shed! We're delighted by the experience and won't hesitate to recommend them. (In the photo, note that there's no skirting at the base because we've opted to add the skirting ourselves, which we'll be doing shortly)

We've had problems with our small back lawn for years, and we've tried patching it up with grass seed and even spent a day trying to re-sod it ourselves - which worked for a while, but we didn't replenish enough of the soil, and did an amateur job of regarding the bumps and valleys in the lawn. The My Landscapers team came in November 2020 and in a day and a half dug everything up, added fresh soil, graded everything as flat as a putting green, laid lovely new sod, and well into the next summer everything looks beautiful. The team was professional, courteous, cleaned up after themselves (and in fact offered to take with them a pile of branches we had cut off of a tree). We're delighted with our new lawn and don't hesitate to recommend them.

We finally got around to replacing badly aged and crumbling ~30yr old concrete walkway and retaining wall in our front yard, and went with Pro-Loc to do the work. I've attached some before-and-after shots of the work. The work was done quickly and professionally, both the tear-down of the old and the install of the new. (We also had them re-sod the lawn - given the size of the space there was no real way the work could have been done without it getting pretty beat-up). Everything was done quickly, professionally, and beautifully. Between the tear-down and the install, we had a tree removal company come in and remove a stump, and Pro-Loc worked with us to make that scheduling work. We're writing this review a year later (work was done in Oct '15) so that there'd be a complete year's weather, freeze-thaw and all, on which to judge the quality of the work. We've had several neighbours have similar work done that looked lovely at the time but quickly started to wear or shift. But the work is just as beautiful and solid now as it is in the pictures, and we're extremely pleased with it. And the people have been very helpful; just last week, a year after the work, we texted them to ask a question about care of the materials, and they responded right away. So we're very happy with the work and the support we've received.

We got several quotes for several items of brickwork and masonry repair in our front yard. Three Little Pigs was far from the least expensive, but had an excellent portfolio of similar work and people who spoke highly of them, and clearly cared a great deal about doing a good job. They also sent a very detailed statement of work with labelled photos of what needed to be repaired/replaced so that we were all on the same page, which was a nice touch of professionalism; so we went with three little pigs. The work took two days, and the site was cleaned immaculately at the end of each day. Three people were involved, and the work was done quickly and looks just beautiful. We've waited six months to write this review to make sure everything has held up to weather, and it is just as good-looking and solid as the the day the work was finished. Three Little Pigs won't be your cheapest option, but we're extremely happy with the quality of the work that was done.

Steve came out to fix our quite old "laundry centre" (stacked washer and dryer). I had described the problem over the phone and he quoted us a likely price range that ended up being right on the money. When he arrived - we arranged a time that was within 24 hours of our final phone call - he not only fixed the problem (replacing some other worn parts that hadn't failed yet but would have soon), he even cleaned out the vent (from inside the house and outside) when he realized that someone parging the outside years and years ago had partially obstructed the vent and we had never noticed - now the dryer dries better than it ever did! (And is a lot less noisy) Steve was very polite and courteous to myself and my wife, and would be happy to recommend him to others.

We needed a sickly tree removed and a tree stump ground out; Castor were very quick to schedule a visit to give us a quote, and were always very prompt, courteous, and gave great advice. We needed the work to be done between two other pieces of work, which ended up being delayed; they were very flexible in working with us in scheduling. When the day came, they showed up when they said they would, did a great job, and left our backyard cleaner than it had been when they arrived. We'd happily work with them again.

Alex was very prompt getting back to us when we contacted him for a quote, and he walked us through several important questions that other contractors hadn't even considered. He gave us a very competitive quote, and we asked him to do the work. He showed up exactly when he said he would, and the two worked extremely hard over three days to build our lovely new fence just as we had asked for it. They cleaned up after every day, and when the job was done, the fence was the only sign they had been here - everything else was spotless. We love our new fence, and it's made our backyard into the quiet peaceful space we we hoping for. Alex was great and we're extremely pleased that we had his company do the work. We'd recommend him to anyone considering similar work without hesitation.

When Jeff came to fix one problem, he solved it in literally minutes. He charges a minimum of one hour for house calls; but rather than leaving it at that, he actually started quizzing me about other things he could do to make the most use of the hour! There was something that needed to be done at some point in the next couple of months, setting up wiring for a dishwasher, and so he tackled that job expertly and professionally, explaining to me at every step of the way what was going on, and ended up finishing both projects within the hour. I was very impressed with Jeff's professionalism and helpfulness, and won't hesitate to contact him again.

We bought a house towards the end of 2009; the house was in good shape but we knew going in that the flat roof was old and would need to be replaced. We were new to this, so we used Homestars to pick 3 well-reviewed companies to give us estimates. Of the three, megacity came do do our estimate the fastest, and gave us the best-explained, most professional description. It was not the cheapest, but it was the one we were most comfortable with, and showing the estimates to a professional friend-of-the-family, we confirmed that what they were describing made the most sense, and the reason for the slightly higher price was that they were going to add some materials as a sub-layer in the roofing that was the right choice. This was the beginning of winter, and we wanted to get it done before spring both to have a solid roof during the winter and to take advantage of the tax credit. Megacity sent 10 guys to come do it all in one cold January day, and they got it done. When they left, unless you went up to see the roof you'd have no evidence at all that they had been here; the house and lawn were cleaned up perfectly (and ours wasn't an easy job site; there was very little room to get old materials from the back yard through to the front, so they had to take things over the front roof!). They charged us exactly what we had agreed to, were very helpful and took the time to explain everything. We're very happy. The only thing to be aware of when working with this company is that you have to be the one calling to keep the ball rolling; you can't wait around for them to call you. Presumably this is because they were so busy before the tax credit expires, but it's something to keep in mind.

The second morning in our new house we heard some scratching above the ceiling and quickly found out that while the house had been vacant, squirrels had scratched out a little home in the attic. There had been a similar problem in our rental last year, and our landlord had used Gates. They had seemed happy enough with them that we had asked them for the number when a neighbour had a similar problem - so we had the number handy. At 7:30am we phoned and left a message, and at 8:30 they phoned us back. At 10:30 Tony was here, looked around, explained the problem, and an hour or so later the house was practically a critter-proof fortress; every possible entrance way was locked up, except for one where he installed a one way door; then they came back a couple days later to seal that up, so that there were no and would be no more unpaying tenants in the attic. During his inspection he found that racoons were trying their hardest to get into a roof vent, and sealed that up, too; one problem solved, one problem prevented. My fiancee was so pleased with the work that she tried to give Tony a tip, which he politely declined. We recommend these guys without hesitation.

George came to our new home through the week exactly when he said he would to re-key our new house. The previous owners had only left us the key to the front door. The old locks were also cheap disasters, and he quickly and efficiently replaced them both with much more solid ones, and he explained everything very patiently, including pointing out several other potential problem areas I should keep an eye out for. Everything went fine, but I think I should have gotten a couple quotes first when it comes down to it; $450 for two new locks seems excessive!

We were moving from a townhouse in one part of Toronto to a new home in another. We'd had pretty good luck with two-men-and-a-truck type operations in the past, but this was a big enough move that we decided to pay a little more and get a big moving company with full-time employees to do it. Laura came and checked out the old place and gave us a quote. We worked hard packing and were very prepared for the move; when the day came, the team of Rory, Alex, and Eric arrived on time, worked hard and professionally, and moved us so quickly that we ended up paying well under the quoted price. Everything arrived in terrific shape, and in the end we didn't pay much more than going with cheaper outfits. Highly recommended.

The more work you do beforehand and the more prepared you are for moving day, the better it's going to go. Have the move scheduled for first thing in the morning, so there's less of a chance for delays in getting your move started.
