We hired the team from Gala Renovations to take on two more projects in our house. Previously, Scott and his team renovated our kitchen. We were so pleased with the quality of work that we asked them to come back and update our bathroom and front porch. Scott quoted the work in detail and stayed true to his quote! The team did an excellent job converting our dusty, old enclosed front porch into a clean, fresh, modern mudroom, complete with oodles of storage! From concept through to the selection of cabinet pulls, Scott was us every step of the way. His years of experience renovating Toronto homes came in very handy, dealing with the inevitable issues that pop up when updating a 100-year-old home. Our basement bathroom had suffered the wear and tear of two teenaged boys and needed some freshening up. When we realized part-way through the renovation that the planned flooring approach wouldn’t give us the result we wanted, Scott provided options and helped facilitate the change in direction. The change involved sourcing new materials and getting tradespeople to do additional work. Scott accommodated the change with a smile on his face and even managed to stick pretty close to the original timeline. A big shout out to Duke, who was on-site almost every day and made sure that the work didn’t disrupt our daily lives (and our dog loved the daily belly rubs!) He was a pleasure to have in our home for the duration of the work. We are so pleased with our new bathroom and mudroom! Scott will be my first call when the next project pops up.

We couldn't be happier with our new floors thanks to Faddy, Michelle, and the whole team at The Brothers Flooring. The team installed new hardwood in our kitchen, stairs and upstairs hallway and refinished the existing hardwood on the main floor. They were able to match the existing and new wood perfectly, and the transitions between the new and old flooring are perfect. They also made some repairs to the existing hardwood where changes to the ductwork had resulted in relocating some vents. You would never be able to tell where the old vents were located. The quality of work is excellent, but even better is the customer service and attention to detail. We had to coordinate the installation and refinishing of our floors with other renovations/contractors. Michelle did a great job of keeping us informed about scheduling and ensuring that everything went smoothly. And the team worked through the night so that we could get back into our house on schedule, which we greatly appreciated! I wouldn't hesitate to hire Faddy and the team at The Brothers Flooring again. As the headline says, we are pleased as punch with their work!

I can’t say enough good things about Scott and Gala Renovations. We engaged Scott to gut and renovate our kitchen, and we’re so glad we did! Scott did an excellent job of keeping us informed from start to finish. He made sure we were aware of changes to the schedule, bumps in the road, and key decision points. The pandemic delayed our renovation, and Scott was excellent about checking in prior to the start of the work, providing provide updates and helping us prepare. He delivered what he promised, on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption to my work and family. It was a great experience! We discovered some asbestos during the demolition portion of the work. Scott advised us right away, provided a couple of options (with cost estimates), and arranged for the additional work so that it didn’t disrupt the timeline at all. He also provided receipts for all of the additional work and did not mark it up. The cabinetmaker he works with was also excellent! We are super happy with the final product and the available options. They were able to accommodate all of our special asks (spice drawer, pullout, garbage centre, special-size pantry, etc.) The installation team was excellent. They were pleasant, efficient, and professional. They even removed our front door to allow for a furniture delivery in the midst of their work. They were also great about respraying a pantry door that was scratched after installation. Everyone single one of the subcontractors Scott engaged was top-notch! It was not our plan to be in the house every day throughout the renovation, but we had no choice due to the pandemic. All of the workers adhered to social distancing and mask guidelines and were great about accommodating special requests to manage the noise during important Zoom calls! They cleaned up every night and were very good about working around us. I wouldn’t hesitate to engage Scott and Gala Renovations again. In fact, we’re thinking about a bathroom renovation in the spring, and Scott will be the only contractor I call!

I can’t thank the team at Swat Wildlife enough for their prompt, efficient and thorough service. They came out to investigate the noises in our roof and discovered a nest of birds. Because the birds were babies, they had to wait two weeks to remove the nest and repair of the roof. I didn’t even have to follow up. They showed up when promised and dealt with the problem. No muss, no fuss! I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again!

1-800 Got Junk never fails. It’s my go to service to remove unwanted junk and garbage. Yesterday, two very pleasant young men dropped by to remove an old bed frame and mattress. They were in and out in less than half an hour, and they made sure to explain in advance the cost of the job. Friendly, professional, efficient. What more could you ask for!

The whole experience with the Wow 1 Day Painting team was top notch! From my initial meeting with Brian through to the painting day with Laszlo and Tayrone the whole experience was wonderful. I thought all the wonderful reviews were too good to be true … they aren’t! The Wow 1 Day Painting team lives up to the hype. They arrived on time, worked quickly, left the house spotless … and even left us some cookies. We will definitely hire Wow 1 Day Painting again. Already planning to get them to paint the exterior of our house in the spring!

The Clean House team is great! They did a deep clean of my house and I was so impressed we’ve asked them to come back every couple of weeks. Alex responded to my inquiry promptly, arrived when he said he would, and even charged me less than the amount he quoted over the phone! I don’t think my house has ever been so clean!

The Throughout Landscaping team is great! They did a terrific job on a fall cleanup at our house. Phillip responded to my inquiry promptly, arrived when he said he would, and best of all our property is now ready for winter! I’ll definitely have the team back in the spring.

Peter and his team poured a new concrete floor in our garage. They did a great job, completed the work quickly and when they said they would ... we love our new floor! Very happy we hired Peter and his team.

We poured a new concrete floor in our garage and as a result the doors would no longer close properly. Oleg from Garage Door Geeks came by to see if he could repair them. Unfortunately it wasn't possible so he ordered us two new doors and installed an opener. The work was done quickly and for less than we had anticipated. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

We needed to run electricity to our garage to power a few lights and a garage door opener. Jose and his team ran power from our house to the garage without ANY damage to the interior of the house ... not even a tiny hole! The installed a subpanel, light and several outlets. Very impressed with the quality of their work and the speed with which they were able to complete the job. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

Mykola from Royal Roofing was great to deal with from start to finish! He and his team installed a new roof on our garage ... they did the work promptly, and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. A really great experience!

Dany and his crew did an excellent job installing our new backyard deck. I requested quotes from a number of HomeStars top contractors. Dany was the first to respond, the first to meet with us to discuss the job and he his price was very competitive. What really impressed us was the “extras” … Dany seemed to understand what we wanted to accomplish from the start. He made several suggestions to improve our “design” and his teams attention to detail with the final product was outstanding! They left the site clean every day and did their best to minimize disruption for our family and our neighbours (with whom we share a driveway.) Can’t say enough about what a pleasant experience it was working with Dany and The Custom Deck Company team. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them to anyone. Really impressed with Atiar's service! He showed up when he said he would, called before he arrived to make sure I was home ... and travelled to Mississauga on his own time to pick up the part that was needed to complete the repair! It's no fun having an critical appliance like a dryer out of service ... but Atiar made the repair process a joy!
