We had a couple tricky ceiling fan installations that needed an expert touch so we hired the Shock Doctors. They showed up on time (actually showed up early, which was nice) and provided a detailed quote before the work was done. The job was completed quickly and professionally by a courteous individual and I couldn't be happier. They even sent us a hand written thank you note along with some candy a week later. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs work done.

I got a new TV for Christmas and the Leslieville Geek team installed it for me 3 days later. Their installer showed up exactly on time and managed the job quickly and without mess. We hired Turco Persian to breath new life into our 8 year old microfibre sectional couch. We have a toddler and want to continue using this couch for at least 6 or 7 more years, but it was looking a bit dingy and didnt smell very fresh. Ben from Turco Persian arrived on time. He was very professional, courteous and friendly. He walked me through the process and made sure to ask where I'd prefer he access water and drainage. I felt totally comfortable leaving him alone in my home while he worked. Ben was thorough with his cleaning job, even taking time to vacuum under the couch and rescue all the small toys that were trapped under it. He left no mess behind and we are left with a very clean couch. It truly looks brand new again. We are extremely happy with the service from Turco Persian and I would recommend them to anyone.

Redline Mechanical were the subcontractors hired by my general contractor as part of an insurance claim which required a new furnace due to water damage. Since we were also expanding the square footage of our house, we got them to install a central air unit outside as well as some duct work in the basement. Despite having professional drawings from an HRAI certified engineer, they somehow managed to install the furnace completely wrong. They hooked the main supply riser to the return portion of the furnace and the main return riser to the supply portion. (For laymen: They attached the ducts that should be blowing air to the part of the furnace that sucks air in, and the ducts that should be sucking air in to the part of the furnace that blows air out. i.e. - our return air vents were blowing air, and our supply vents were sucking air in.) This is such a basic aspect of HVAC work that it defies logic how this could even happen. That's not even the worst part. When confronted with this error their "solution" was not to fix it at the source. (Either rotate the furnace or otherwise fix the ducts as they come off the furnace.) Their idea was to open up a 20 square foot hole in my kitchen wall where the main supply/return ducts are and create some weird type of "X" duct so that they connected properly. Now, I don't know if this was due to maliciousness (since it was probably the cheaper option) or ignorance but my HVAC engineer actually laughed out loud when I told him about their "solution." Apparently this "X" duct would have created a massive choke point for air coming and going from the furnace to the whole house. Ultimately they ended up coming back and fixing it the right way after they exhausted all other options but I was still left with a 20 foot hole in my kitchen wall. Finally, I had some issues with the thermostat they installed in December and they never even responded to my e-mail. So much for customer service.

We hired Jason (the owner of Tri-chroma) for a major addition/renovation in early 2015. This job included: foundation work, roofing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall/painting, and other finishing work. Pretty much everything you can imagine. Jason and his crew did a fantastic job from start to finish and we are extremely pleased with how the project went. For starters, the quality of the work is fantastic. Jason was also very helpful in solving various issues that arose as the project progressed (it's a 100 year old house - surprises happen!) and was always available to talk as we were deciding on finishings, etc. I would definitely recommend Jason for any projects you might have - big or small.

We hired Reiner (The Reno Coach) in early 2015 after our initial contractor went bankrupt and left us with an empty shell of a house. Reiner was able to get the project back on track very quickly by bringing in multiple contractors to quote on finishing the job. Ultimately we selected a contractor that he found for us, and the job was finished on time and on budget. In fact, it was well UNDER budget since the new contractor that Reiner found gave us a better price than the original guy who went bankrupt. He was also a strong advocate for us with respect to some insurance-related aspects of the project. For anyone who is undertaking a major, lengthy/complicated renovation I would highly recommend hiring the Reno Coach . Not only will he be able to help you select the right contractor for the job but he's "in your corner" all the way along, making sure the job gets done right, on time, and on budget. You definitely want someone with his experience when you're dealing with contractors, insurance adjusters, etc.

Cargo Cabbie have moved us twice in the past year and both instances have been fantastic. Their crews are professional, courteous and above all else - thorough. They took the time to individually wrap literally every item in our house. Everything from the sectional couch to the lamp shades! The owner Javier also took the time to inspect our home before the move to make sure everything was in order for his team as well as for us. In addition he was on site on moving day to make sure everything went smoothly. I simply can't say enough good things about this company. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for movers. They made an extremely stressful day (for us) into a worry-free event. These guys are the best.

I received a last minute request from my contractor for a DSS report so that my project would not be shut down by the Ministry of Labour. Angelina showed up within hours of me calling to take samples and I had the full results in less than a week. Thank you so much for your speedy response! It helped keep my renovation on schedule without any undue delays! I would also like to note that they were both very courteous and professional and provided excellent communication throughout the process in terms of giving me updates on when the lab report would be back. I would certainly use them again for any future projects and recommend them to others as well.
