After the really heavy rainstorm on April 3, our small problem of a little water in one closet in the basement became more severe. A drop turned into a flow, we were dumping pails of water. In a panic, I called 5 waterproofing companies, and left urgent messages. Only one got back to me - Anatoliy, the manager at Royal Work. He promised to come the next day and did. And quickly diagnosed that we had a major problem that was going to require digging, putting on multiple layers of waterproofing. It sounded like it was going to be a very expensive job. I was delighted with Anatoliy's very reasonable quote and explanation that a 2-man crew could address the problem in a day's work. With no more rain in the forecast the urgency was reduced. He promised to send a crew in the middle of next week and he did. The crew showed up on time - actually, somewhat early. Vlad and Vasil did excellent work, were pleasant despite some limits in their spoken English. They were happy to show us the work as they were doing it. And they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. They discovered that they could not lay down weeping (drainage) tiles without installing (the next day) a $2000 sump pump. Most of that cost is reimbursable by the City of Toronto. Otherwise the estimate was bang on. I've added some before, during and after pictures. I've written many reviews over the years. This company was the best! A pleasure to work with, sticking to the estimates, interacting nicely, cleaning up thoroughly after their difficult digging and installing work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. And I still haven't heard back from the other 4 companies whom I phoned...

I was delighted with the service from the Mold Guy company. My contractor suspected that we had mold in the basement but couldn't come to check it out until the weekend. We were trying to put the house up for sale so timing was tight. I called the Mold Guy on Thursday. Kay was a delight to deal with. We made a conditional appointment for them to spend an inspector on Monday and a remediation crew on Tuesday - all if they found mold. Well, find mold they did. I confirmed with Kay on Sunday, the inspector showed up exactly on time on Monday morning. The three man crew arrived on time on Tuesday and worked for 6 or so hours to tear out most of the basement bathroom and other small affected areas. They were efficient, pleasant, and they left the place cleaner than when they started. The office sent me a letter affirming that we had no more mold the next day. As good an experience as one could have, dealing with something as unpleasant as mold.

The evening after we discovered a huge wasp nest just outside our third floor, I wrote to TSR. Alan responded promptly in the morning and said he'd send someone to deal with it that day. Indeed two very skilful and pleasant people, Sal and Gunel, showed up before lunch. Not only did they solve my problem, they were also willing (for an additional charge, of course) to address the similar problems of two of my neighbours. The work was done quickly and efficiently, with no disruption to our lives. Highly recommend.

We had our furnaces installed 11 years ago by one of the large companies in Toronto. Their proposed service contract was outrageously expensive, but we were lucky to find a very senior HVAC service guy with very reasonable rates. But then he retired! It was quite a struggle to find a company willing to do service work, almost everyone prefers to do installations. We wanted to stick to a small, owner-operated company with excellent reviews. Nick at Interior Climate Solutions was just right. Towards the end of winter one of our two furnaces gave out. The house was tolerable but not warm enough. Nick came over and diagnosed the problem - a blown motor on the furnace. Of course it had to be the most expensive part, on a furnace that was showing distressing signs of wear and tear, a year after the warranty was up. It wasn't worthwhile doing an expensive repair. We decided to replace the furnace. Nick came up with two suggestions, both quite reasonably priced. It only took about a week or 10 days until he let us know that our new furnace had arrived - and that he had a cancellation, so could he come the next day? We were delighted. Nick and his two man team showed up on time. They completed the work in less time than expected - about three hours. They were respectful and a pleasure to deal with, and they cleaned up beautifully. I couldn't be more satisfied.

We shopped extensively for engineered hardwood flooring. Liked the selection at Invision. Pina, Roy and Dov were all very helpful and pleasant to deal with. They went to considerable lengths to speed my purchase in order to qualify for a manufacturer's rebate. Highly recommend.

The bottom piece of our upstairs shower (the toe warmer) had broken off. Tanvir gave me a price range depending on how long it took him to do the work. He was pleasant, prompt, efficient. The shower had a very narrow access through a side closet. That did not deter Tanvir. The work was completed to our complete satisfaction, within the range of his original estimate. We highly recommend Tanvir and would not hesitate to use him again.

Tim and his two hard-working helpers showed up on time. They disassembled an incredibly heavy 20 year old elliptical trainer, took off some doors, moved furniture around, and managed to get it up some very narrow stairs - all in a pouring rain! The crew were pleasant and helpful. They also cleared away a bunch of other garbage that had been cluttering up the house for far too long. Great service, reasonable price. I'm very impressed, and would highly recommend them.

I was very pleased at the work done by Straight Up Masonry. The estimate was thorough and professional. The workers arrived many weeks later, on time. They worked hard, finishing up within a day and a half. Did excellent work, cleaned up after themselves. I'm very pleased, and would highly recommend their service.

Finer Edge did a great job painting the exterior of our house. Their workers were professional and respectful, easy to deal with. And they did first-rate work. A lot of our windows required additional work and fine detail, and they handled everything brilliantly. Came in on time, on budget. We were very impressed and would highly recommend them.

After many (24) years, it was past time to re-upholster our dining room chairs. We shopped around and found that the quote from Alo was quite reasonable. Their selection of fabrics was very extensive and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The chairs were actually ready and delivered to us a week earlier than the agreed date! The work is terrific, we're very pleased.

The worker actually showed up earlier than expected. Did the job thoroughly, cleaned up afterwards. I found it rather expensive as prices are based on the size of the BBQ and mine is huge, but I knew about that beforehand. That's the only matter that keeps me from giving absolutely top marks.

I was very pleased with the work of Perry and his expert team of installers. Unfortunately we had a big problem with our carpet choice, which started to show bad signs of wear and tear within a month of installation. Perry was extremely diligent in following up. When the manufacturer shirked his responsibility for this obvious fault, Perry and his supplier stood up and replaced all of the carpet, at their cost. The only cost to me was the differential in the price of my upgraded carpet choice.

I was looking for someone to consolidate our multiple devices and remotes into one universal remote, check our sound bar. David responded quickly to my email request. We spoke over the phone and he estimated that the job would take 2-3 hours. The price for labour and equipment was very reasonable. Within a few days he was at the house doing the installation. Terrific service - he even brought along his own vacuum cleaner to clean up after himself. No pressure to buy additional equipment. I felt that David was all about meeting my needs. Very impressive. I heartily recommend.

William responded to my inquiry promptly, gave a reasonable quote. His crew was neat and efficient, arriving on time and finishing when William said they would. The work was first rate. I'm delighted with the service and with my beautifully paved driveway.
