With over 200 cubic metres of mulch required for our landscaping project we searched every landscaping company in the Edmonton area. We recently built a new house on an acreage close to St Albert. We decided to do all the landscaping ourselves. In order to do so we would need in excess of 500 trees and shrubs. We searched every possible tree/shrub nursery in the Edmonton area for the products we wanted and for the most reasonable price. After having extensively researching this project we found that the St Albert Canadian Tire had every tree and shrub that we were looking for at the best possible price. With our new home purchase we wanted a gas and a wood burning fireplace. The builder sent us to Timberwolf Hearth Products in Edmonton and it ended up being an excellent suggestion. We searched all over the city and internet for quality leather and hardwood living room furniture. We finally found the look and quality that we were searching for and Lazboy Furniture in Edmonton. The staff were exceptional and gave us a great price for the quality furniture that we were looking for. When it came time for delivery there was very minor damage caused to the sofa and Lazboy exchanged it for a new one. This is the second Arctic Spa that we have purchased and we would definitely recommend an Arctic Spa to anyone who is in the market to purchase one. I recently purchased a new home on an acreage. The house came with a water well and this was a very new experience for us as we never had to rely on a well for our house hold water. When we moved into our new home we had the water tested and found out that there was a high sodium content in the water. We investigated numerous companies to see if any company sold a water filtration product that would remove sodium from the water. We finally came across The Water Clinic and they guaranteed me that if their filtration equipment didn't remove the sodium from my well water then they would reimburse me my money. Well The Water Clinic definitely put their money where their mouth is because we are completely satisfied with the filtration system that they installed in my house. After having The Water Clinic's water filtration system installed I sent a sample of the tap water to be chemically analysed by an accredited water testing lab in Edmonton. I compared their results against the well water results conducted by the Alberta Centre for Toxicology. The water coming out of the tap after passing through your water filtration system has completely cleaned the water of any impurities (including dissolved sodium). I would definitely recommend The Water Clinic to anyone looking for a whole home water filtration system.

IKO Warranty has made it impossible to make a reasonable claim for (minor) wind damage to IKO shingles. IKO shingles were installed on my new home with a wind rating warranty. After a wind storm where the wind speed was less than the warranty rating a few shingles blew off of the roof (see attached photo). The warranty stated that the shingles would be replaced and installed under the warranty. Unfortunately, you have to mail some damaged shingles to IKO warranty for their review (along with pictures) for a decision to be made on my claim. The cost of sending IKO warranty two shingles is cost prohibitive as compared to the cost of a package of shingles (approximately $22.00). I was simply hoping that the photos of my roof would have been enough to satisfy IKO warranty that my roof has in fact sustained wind damage. My offer of one IKO voucher for one package of IKO Cambridge AR shingles so that I can repair my roof and save IKO the cost of having a company repair my roof was rejected by IKO warranty. IKO's claims process is cost prohibitive and apparently inflexible. I was hoping that IKO warranty would have seen this from my (the customer) perspective and simply provide me with one IKO voucher for one package of Cambridge AR shingles. IKO warranty has failed with respect to reasonable customer service.

When shopping around for our (new) hardwood furniture purchase we were overwhelmed with so many stores and choices. Our focused remained on (quality) solid hardwood furniture that was made in Canada or the United States. Upon first entering Solid Wood Superstore we were greeted by a very friendly and professional associate of Solid Wood Superstore. She (Carol) explained all the available choices of furniture and wood species to construct any piece of furniture that we were seeking. She listened to what our needs and wants were and then showed us what Solid Wood Superstore had to offer us that would meet or exceed our expectations. The solid wood furniture that we ended up purchasing was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. To top it off all the furniture was manufactured right here in Canada. We would definitely recommend Solid Wood Superstore to anyone seriously considering exceptional hardwood furniture for their home at a fair price.

Rodco Drilling drilled the water well for my acreage and installed the pump and purification equipment. Well water was a new experience for me and my family so we were very nervous about a well and how to manage well water. Rod, the owner of Rodco Drilling, explained every step as he and his team drilled the well and installed the water equipment. He put our concerns at ease and ensured that we had perfect drinking water for our family's needs. After the well installation Rod followed up to see if we still had any concerns with the water or how the equipment operates. When I informed him I still had concerns with the well equipment he came to my house and explained how the system works from A to Z. Excellent customer service!

Update: Carpet Showplace eventually did send the installer to make the necessary repairs to the floor and stairs. I am very satisfied with the work/repairs that the installers completed. Now that I am satisfied with the final outcome of this flooring/stairs project I now would recommend Carpet Showplace for all your flooring needs. The only caveat would be to hold back 10% of the cost until all repairs (if necessary) are completed. Original observation: Very poor installation of the flooring and stairs. The flooring has splintered wood and nails sticking out of the wood. The stair nosing is poorly installed. It has been seven months since the installation and Carpet Showplace simply tells me that they will send someone to complete the repairs but no one ever comes. Totally dissatisfied with the way Carpet Showplace has handled the installation and lack of repair work to my hardwood flooring and stairs. I wouldn't recommend this flooring company.

Sound builder that I would recommend. However, the closing date was 6 months past the agreed upon closing date and the finishing carpentry was less than acceptable. I would definitely build with him again with the agreement that he uses a different finishing carpenter.
