Supply and Install Sliding Doors
Longlife Windows and Doors recently supplied and installed two Vinyltek sliding patio doors at my home in Delta. The did an outstanding job and we are very happy with the result. Our home is a West Coast contemporary and we ordered the doors painted dark brown on the exterior and interior. We wanted to retain the original stained fir jambs and mahogany casings. Also,we wanted to retain the existing venetian blinds. We were concerned that it might difficult to do this because the new doors are thicker than the old aluminum sliders and the door handle might interfere with the operation of the blinds. Every aspect of this project was handled in a very professional manner. Chris Alexander, the owner, came out to our home and gave us a description of what they would do. The next day we received a written contract with a detailed description of material to be supplied, statement of work with costs and estimated installation date. They met this date with a week to spare. The Longlife installation crew of Rick, Preston and Ed arrived right on time, with all of the material and a very complete set of hand and power tools for the job.I was very impressed with the time and care that they took to remove the old windows, measure , plumb and square up the openings before even unloading the new windows. They cut and installed furring strips to move the new doors out the exact amount to re-use the existing jambs and casings and for the door handles to clear the venetion blinds. Their prep work was so precise that the new doors fit perfectly into the opening like a glove. The care that they took to caulk and seal the doors before and after they were installed was extraordinary. Both doors were alarmed, so with the approval of my alarm contractor, they re-installed and verified the alarms. After asking us what exterior trim width we wanted, they cut and installed new pre-primed wood trims, filled and sanded all the nail holes. I only have to paint them to match the existing wood siding, after the weather warms up a bit.The new doors are elegant and the rooms they serve are much warmer and draft free. It is very re-assuring to know that there are Companies like Long Life Windows and Doors that still care about customer service and trades people like Rick, Preston and Ed who take such care and pride in doing fine work.
